Dear Hon. Anaheim Mayor and City Council members,
There comes a time in your political career when you just must do the “right thing.” The circumstances dictate as such
and there is no other way. You cannot protect the city from liability if there is liability. However, you can let the process
play out with transparency and yes it will take courage. People want the truth and that is the path forward. No one
wants to see city staff punished for carrying out the wishes of superiors or council orders, but we must know if these
things happened. It must stop and the only way is to get to the truth.
Please allow the investigation to be released to the public as it was intended. The previous council verbally stated this
investigation is for the public.
The scandal and doubt can stop, and the public can begin to trust the people sitting at the dais.
You will be known for stopping the corruption and underhand dealing that we all know took place. People have already
admitted to wrongdoings, have been arrested and indicted. There is no dispute. Do not continue this practice and cover-
up. You can be the heroes and dispel the plague that surrounds our city.
The employees deserve to work for a clean city, and they can be made to feel whole again. It is up to you. Please make
the right choice. Release the report without restrictions.
Thank you,
Annemarie Randle-Trejo
