For Public Comment,
I am writing as a hospitality worker who works in Anaheim to urge the City Council to adopt
the Hotel Worker Protection Ordinance. Our community has spoken: over 25,000 Anaheim
voters signed petitions in support of the initiative!
Adopting this policy would give hospitality workers the tools to protect themselves from sexual
assault, ensure fair pay for heavy workloads, and guarantee decent wages amid Orange
County’s affordable housing crisis. Please make sure the City of Anaheim is watching out for
its vulnerable workers and giving them the dignity and respect they deserve.
Please adopt this ordinance without further delay.
