Hello Mr. Faessel:
I would like to express concerns about the roadside vendors that have become commonplace on many
street corners throughout Anaheim. Typically, there are several flower vendors on major intersections
however with Mother's Day approaching, the number has grown exponentially. Some time ago I was
nearly in an accident on Lincoln and Sunkist just before the crossing due to a car stopping suddenly in
the right hand lane to purchase flowers from a vendor. Today as I was traveling southbound on State
College just past La Palma a Cintas van stopped in the right lane, turned on his hazard lights, left his
vehicle and proceeded to purchase flowers from a vendor which caused a traffic back up.
I frequently observe these vendors walking among lanes trying to sell to motorists.
Not only are these vendors causing safety hazards, but I would venture to speculate that for the most
part these are unlicensed street vendors taking away business from tax paying, city licensed stores.
I have also taken notice of illegal food operations setting up in various parking lots around East Anaheim.
Are these operations ever checked for licenses? Are these type of food vending legal in Anaheim?
Anaheim is beginning to look a lot like Los Angeles which I am hoping our City does not hope to
replicate.

I would appreciate your thoughts and potential course of action. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Anita Moreno
