Nick;
I am Jay Kremer who owns an eight unit apartment building at 2146 S. Mallul Dr. Our building is a block south of the
proposed expansion of the bar. I would like to register a protest against the expansion of this bar. I suspect the reason
for the expansion is to include acƟviƟes in the bar that will be profitable but not be either lawful or will lead to noise or
disrupƟve behavior.
Several years ago, the area was not a good area in which to live for the tenants in the neighborhood. The area was a
source of prosƟtutes and incidents of robbery. The area became so bad that a number of the owners in the area formed
a group to combat the problem. We all donated to hire a private enforcement group to keep problem people out of the
area. We had tried to have the Anaheim police do enforcement in the area but were unsuccessful in having any success
with this opƟon. I am concerned that the significant expansion of the bar will lead to some of the problems we
experienced in the past.
I live in Fullerton where the downtown area has many bars and restaurants where alcoholic drinks are sold. There is a
conƟnued event of fights and illegal acƟviƟes in this area, especially on the weekends. This results in a need for
expansive police acƟviƟes for the area. There has been an aƩempt to tone this down by having each business where
problems occur to have addiƟonal personnel paid for by the offending business to control this problem. Noise problems
have also been reported late at night where music acƟviƟes are presented.
Expansion of the area where alcohol is sold or music or prosƟtuƟon is allowed will be a major detracƟon to the area. It is
recommended that this bar expansion not be allowed.
