Attachment 2 - Applicant Letter of RequestTo whom it may concern, My name is Jaime Arcadia and the bar located at 628 West Orangewood Avenue has been a part of my family for 29 years. Over that course of time, we have had minimal police assistance. We have also had next to no complaints from nearby residents and businesses. Over the last 29 years, we have found ways to adapt as the area went from strawberry fields to what is now a resort area. We have rebranded, changed philosophies, remodeled, and even appeared on the hit television show Bar Rescue (for nationwide marketing purposes). Our family is very hands on with all of our businesses and involved in the day to day operation. This is why I believe we have had great success in detouring problematic incidents. We started this business strictly as a beer wine bar and in 2015 we were fortunate to have the City of Anaheim grant us a class 48 liquor license. It didn’t take long to see that this decision by the cit y was going to change our business as we knew it forever. It allowed us to grow as business owners, reach new heights, and even open other locations. Over the last 8 years we have waited for the opportunity to be able to expand our first location. After years of trying the opportunity finally presented itself. We are asking that you strongly consider approving our expansion into 626 West Orangewood. This would double our current size. Due to our good track record over the last 29 years the local Police Department is supportive of this project within the zoning area. The vast majority of our customers come from the resort area and do not drive over. They often walk to the location or uber, so the development of this project will not negatively affect neighboring business or residential when it comes to parking. It will also allow neighboring businesses to get more eyes on their business as people make their way over to the bar. Doubling our space will also help create more spacing within the business to help keep people at ease given the recent pandemic. Upon approval, we would be removing one wall to combine both units. The unification of these units will not affect any nearby residents or businesses in any negative way as our indoor construction is very minimal and will not affect day to day life in the area whatsoever. We are as close to being to the resort area without officially being in the resort area. We are a 5 minute walk from the convention center, the Doubletree Hotel is right across the street from us with a dozen hotels within a 5 to 10 minute walk. We are 5 minutes away from the popular Joes Italian Ice. So, it is safe to say that our expansion would not negatively affect traffic any more than what the area is already known for. We have also not affected it negatively the last 8 years where we have benefited businesses such as Mi Casa Mexicana who has gained added customers from people at the bar. This expansion will also keep more tax dollars in Anaheim. Since our location is relatively small at the moment, we have seen many tourist uber to bars in Garden Grove and Orange because we are at capacity. Over the last 29 years, we have kept our customers safe and kept our business clean that kept our customers healthy there is no reason to believe that allowing us to expand will change this as we staff more employees to help manage the added clientele. Thank you for your time and consideration we hope that you once again give us the opportunity to grow. ATTACHMENT NO. 2
