A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM GR&~TING VARIANCE NO. 2254: IN
PART.
WHEREAS: after a request for variance by S.V.D.
CATHOLIC UNIVERSITIES;. INCORPORATED, OWNER I FEDERAL SIGN AND
SIGNAL CORPORATION; AGENT, was received, a public hearing before
the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim was held upon due
and proper notice as a result of which Variance No~ 2254 was
denied; covering the following described property:
All that certain land situated in the State of California~
County of Orange ,. Ci ty of Anaheim ," described as follows: .
That portion of the Southwest quarter of the Southwest
quarter of Section 18; Township 4 South, Range 10 West
in the Rancho Los Coyotes as shown on a map recorded
in Book 51; page 10 of Miscellaneous Maps; records of
said Orange CountYi described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the South line of said Section;
East 294.00 feet from the Southwest corner thereof~
thence North 00 17~ 20: East 236.00 feet parallel with
the West line of said Section to the Southwest corner
of Lot 7 of Tract ~o. l446i as shown on a map recorded
in Book 72, pages 5 & 6 of Miscellaneous Maps: thence
South a90 59' 47': East 200.00 feet along the South line
of said rrract.: th.ence SOUtll 00 17 ~ 20': West 236.00 feet
parallel with the West line of said Section to the South
line of said Section; thence North 890 59' 47H West
200.00 feet to the point of beginning. EXCEPT the East
80.00 feet thereof.
WHEREAS, thereafter: within the time prescribed by law
an interested party or the City Council on its own motion caused
.the review of said Planning Commission action at a public hearing
noticed and held as prescribed by law and as a result thereof
the City Council does hereby make the following findings:
1. That there are special circumstances applicable
to the property, including size;- shaper topographyp
location or surroundingsr which do not apply to
other property under identical zoning classifica.-
tion in the vicinity.
2. That, because of special circumstances shown in
(1) above, strict application of the zoning code
deprives the property of privileges enjoye.d by
other property under identical zoning class.ifica....
tion in the vicinity.
NOt'l." THEREFORE,. BE I'll RESOLVED by the City Counci 1 of
the City of Anaheim that a conditional zoning variance be, and
the s~~e is hereby granted, in part, permitting the establishment
of a roof sign and a free .~standing sign on the property herein.'.

That said variance be granted, in part, subj-ect .to. the.
following conditions, with the st.i.pulation by. the. Applicant
that no neon tubes shall be .proje'cti"nq 'from the .edge of the
siqn:
1, That a parcel map to record. the approved, division
of suhj~ect property be subDii tt.ed to- and approved by the 'City of
Anaheim and than be .recorded in the Office. ..of the Orange .County
Record'er.
2. That .adequate clearance of existing electrical
lines be provided as 'required by th.e Electrical Division, Depart-
ment of Public Utilities, and the State of California G.O. 95.
3. That subj.e.ct property shall be deve10ped subs.tanti-
ally in accordance with .plans 'and specifications 'on file with the
City of Anaheim, marked E,rhi'bit No. I, Revision No.. 1, and
Exhibit No.2,. Revision No.1.
4. That Condition No.1, above mentioned, shall be
complied w~tn prior to the commencement of the .activity au~or-
ized under thi.s res,o.luti..on, or prior to. the time that the
building permit is issued, or within a period of 180 days .from
date hereof, whichever occurs first, or such 'further time as
~e City Council may grant.
5. That Conditions Nos. 2 .and 3, above'mentioned,
shall be complied with prior to final buildinq and zOning inspec-
tions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby
reserves the right to revOke suCh variance permit for qood
cause or failure of said owner, its. .heirs,' succes'sors or ass'i.gns
to comply wi1:h ..the Anaheim Municipal Code and re9111at.i,ons 'and the
conditions .herein. Said variance is .granted, in part, for the
te~ prescribed by the 'Ananeim Municipal Code unless 'otherwise
s.p'ecified herein.
