CALL TO ORDER – The agenda having been posted on February 10, 2022, the regular meeting of the
Anaheim Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Chair Laviguer at 4:09 p.m.

I.INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND COMMUNICATION FROM OTHERS:
A.FRIENDS OF THE ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT: The Friends made over $400.00
at their January book sale. Books and CDs were sold for .25 cents and DVDs were sold for
$1.00. The Friends are looking for new members to join their board. They are proud to provide
funding for this year’s Anaheim Reads and have pledged money for next year’s program.
B.FRIENDS OF THE CANYON HILLS LIBRARY: None.
C.ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION REPORT: The 25th annual Mystery Author’s
Luncheon is scheduled for April 24, 2022. Tickets are now available through Eventbrite and are
$60 per person or $550 per table.
D.UNSCHEDULED ORAL COMMUNICATION: Scott Fretwell, newly promoted Principal
Librarian for the Sunkist Library, was introduced.
E.WRITTEN COMMUNICATION FROM OTHERS: None.
II.APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 10, 2022 MEETING: The minutes were approved
as presented.
III.UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.
IV.NEW BUSINESS:
A.CHROMEBOOKS AND HOT SPOTS FOR VETERANS: Don Hilliard presented information
on a grant that Anaheim Public Library was awarded that allotted for Chromebooks and Hot
Spots for checkout. The decision was made to target these as an outreach for Veterans. There
are currently 14 Chromebooks and 30 hotspots for checkout. The next grant will provide for an
additional 22 Chromebooks, 40 hotspots, and 23 accessory kits.

B.LIBRARY BOARD AD IN ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION MYSTERY
AUTHORS LUNCHEON PROGRAM: The Library Board is proud to personally sponsor the
inside cover of the program as they have done in previous years.
V.INFORMATION
A.CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:
Thomas reported that contracts for the Central Green Space and Euclid Programming Space
are expected to be finalized this week.
B.BUDGET: Planning has begun for Fiscal Year 2022/23.
VI.ACTIVITY REPORTS
A.STATISTICS: None.
B.ACTIVITY REPORTS: Donald Hilliard presented on Brainfuse and Proncuicator online
resources.
C.MONTHLY RECOGNITION OF SUPPORT/CERTIFICATE BY BOARD MEMBERS: Linda
recognized Susi Pineda for being customer service focused and organized.
VII.BOARD ITEMS
MEMBER MICHELLE DANG: Offered to do a children’s program on dentistry.
VICE CHAIR LINDA NEWBY: Shared that the Library offers classes on 3D Design and Printing.
CHAIR LAVIGUER: None.
VIII.MISCELLANEOUS
A.NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be March 14, 2022, at the Central Library.
B.ADJOURNMENT: Chair Laviguer adjourned the meeting at 5:04 p.m.
