1. CALL TO ORDER: Chair Cudd called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commissioner Farrow led the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None.
4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: None.
5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Cudd presented the October 23, 2019, Minutes to the Commissioners for
changes or corrections. Commissioner Balius made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Vice Chair Rupp. The
motion was approved with 5 ayes; Chair Cudd accepted the minutes.
6. NEW BUSINESS
a) CPRS Commission and Board Members Membership: Commissioner Balius requested for this item to be agendized.
Sjany Larson-Cash reported the Community Services Department has purchased an annual “Agency” membership
and provided information regarding what is included with the membership. A discussion was held by the Commission
regarding the goal of the CPRS membership. Commissioner Balius stated the interest is to connect with other
Commissioners from other cities. Commissioner Balius will provide further information to staff to look into and the
item will be added on the agenda in January.
7. REPORTS
a) Parks Activity Report – September/October: Pamela Galera presented the report and highlighted the restoration of
the plane at Boysen Park, the cleaning and renovation of the Pond at Pearson Park, and the KaBOOM! project at
Julianna Park. Questions were answered regarding the upcoming renovation of the baseball field at Brookhurst
Park.
b) Park Ranger Report – October: Sjany Larson-Cash presented the report and highlighted the number of patrols,
patrons, public contacts, curfew and alcohol related contacts made by Park Rangers. Sjany reported there was a
decrease in contacts compared to September statistics.
The Park Rangers assisted with security and patrol for the following events: the Jacaranda Park Opening on
November 7th, the Dia de los Muertos event outside of the Downtown Anaheim Community Center on November 1st,
the K9 Association event at Glover Stadium on October 12th, and the Meet on Beach event on Beach Boulevard
adjacent to the West Anaheim Youth Center on November 17th.
c) Parks Capital Project Progress Report: JJ Jimenez presented the report and stated rainy weather has caused the
delay for various projects. JJ provided information on the Meet on Beach Event that occurred on November 17th, and

that staff is working with KaBOOM! to replace the playground equipment Cottonwood Park. Questions were
answered regarding Barton Park and Maxwell Dog Park.
7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Commissioner Balius reported he attended the Meet on Beach Event and commended staff
for a successful event. He also announced that the WAND tree lighting event will be held on Friday, December 6th at
Twila Reid Park.
Larry Pasco reported the Commission has met at Brookhurst Community Center for many years and recommended to
move the meetings to be held close to downtown. A discussion was held by the Commission. It was agreed to move the
meetings to either the Downtown Anaheim Community Center or City Hall as the home base for the Commission and to
keep every other month located among the different districts.
Sjany Larson Cash reported there are 2 tree lighting events in Anaheim:
Friday, December 6th at Twila Reid Park from 6-8 p.m.
Saturday, December 7th at Center Street Promenade – activities will be provided during the day and lighting will
take place at 6 p.m.
