A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ADDING POLICY 1.13 TO THE
CITY COUNCIL POLICY MANUAL REGARDING THE PUBLIC POSTING OF
CALENDARS FOR KEY CITY OFFICIALS
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2007-078, the City Council amended and restated the
City Council Policies and memorialized the policies in a City Council Policy Manual; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, in an effort to promote transparency, would like to
approve a policy that establishes the conditions for posting of public calendars on the City's
website; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the City Council Policy Manual to add a
policy regarding the public posting of calendars for key City Officials; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. Policy No. 1.13 "Public Posting of Calendars for Key City Officials" is
hereby added to the City Council Policy Manual:
"PURPOSE
In an effort to promote transparency, this policy establishes the conditions for posting of public
calendars on the City's website. As such, the Mayor, City Council Members, City Manager,
Assistant City Manager, and Deputy City Manager shall maintain a monthly City Calendar and
publish their calendars to the City's website.
PROCEDURES
Posted calendars shall include all non -internal city -related appointments, calls and meetings with
members of the public, businesses, developers, union representatives, consultants, and lobbyists.
For each entry, Calendars must include the date and time of the meeting; the name(s), title(s) and
affiliated organizations(s) of the people in attendance; as well as a general statement of the topic
of the meeting. The following information may be exempted:
• Personal appointments;
• Meetings with internal staff only, including retained city consultants or vendors;
• Information protected by attorney -client privilege;
• Information about attorney work product;
• Information about city staff recruitment;
• Information about a personnel issue;
• Site -specific information regarding corporate recruiting and retention;
• Information about criminal investigations and security;
• Information about whistle blowers;
• Information about residents who reasonably fear that public disclosure of their
appointment will result in retaliation or other tangible harm;
• Information that is otherwise prohibited from disclosure.
Calendars shall be posted on the City's website on the tenth business day of each month and
shall reflect the schedule of the previous month."
Section 2. This Resolution shall be effective on January 1, 2024.

City of Anaheim this 7th day of November 2023, by the following roll call vote:
