A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERNINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEHENT, TO WIT:
AN AVIATION fUEL PIPZLINZ GRADE CHANGE IN
ORANGEWOOD AVENUE. FROM LEWIS STREET WESTERLY TO
117S FEET. APPROXIl~TELY. WEST OF HASTER STREET,
IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. JOB NO. 500:
AND APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES,
DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
THEREOF, AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS., ETC..; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECT-
ING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF,
WHEREAS, publ:J: c convenience and necessity require the con-
struction and completion of a public improvement in the City of Ana-

The vertical relocation o! an ~xisting 8-inches in
dia!!lcter U. S. Navy aviation fuel line in the right
of way of Orangewood Avenue, between Lewis Street and
a point approximately 1175 feet west of Haster Street,
in the City of Anaheim, without the cutting of the
lin. and while said pipeline remains in service, and
appurtenant work as indicatec on the plans, Job No.

AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed Thornton E. Piersall,
City Engineer, _ to prepare detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specifications, and estimates of quantities and costs
and make necessary surveys for the construction of said public im-
provement; and
WHEREASp sal.d Ci ty Eng ineer has prepared said detailed de-
signs, plans, prof:.lesp drawings and specifications for the construc-
tier. of sald public improvement and has submitted the same to the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed designs.
Dianss prof'iles, drawings and specifications f'or said public improve-
ment above-mentioned are in accordance with good engineering practice
and are adequate to serve the needs and requirements of' the City of'
Anaheim and the citizens and residents in said area for the purposes
"'or whi ch they are intended, and that they are adequate for the con-
st.r'.JGtion of said public Improvement and should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1'1' RESOLVED by the C1 ty Council of the
:>i ty of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings
'lnd specifichtions for said public improvement hereinabove mentioned
and described be. and the same are herebyp approved and adopted as
prepared by said Cit~ Engineer

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improvement
shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed designs,
plaDs, profiles, drawings and specifications as prepared by said
Oi ti l:!.n~ineer and hereby approved, and such addenda or
modi ications thereto as may be approved prior to the awarding of
':1ids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of "naheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to pub-
lish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the
rurni shing of all plant , labor, service s , materials and equipment,
qnd all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and
water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete,
in B good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with said
detailed designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said Oi t~ En~j neeI' , the public improvement
hereinabove mentioned an described, and fixing the 7t.h day of
. January ,196Q._._, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date
8nd hour for the openins of said bids at the City Council Chamber
in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and that said notice shall
be published twice, the first of which publications shall be at
Least ten (10) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids,
,no that said publications sleaU he at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or
iJders shall be required to enter into a contract with the City
of f',naheim in the manner and form approved by the City Attorney of
~he City of Anaheim for the construction, installation and comple-
~ior of said public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described,
in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by said
City Engineer , the notice inviting sealed proposals, this reso-
lution and all applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the
Law,Q of the State of California, 'Jnd shall be required to post bonds
'Onc insurance in the amounts and Hithin the time required by law,
ss specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in a form
9pproved by the City Attorney.
