ARCHITECT AND CONSULTANTS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR JOBSITE
SAFETY. THE ARCHITECT NOR THEIR CONSULTANTS HAVE BEEN
HIRED FOR NOR ARE THEY EXPERTS IN JOBSITE SAFETY. THE
ARCHITECT MAY MAKE VISITS TO THE SITE FROM TIME TO TIME.
THESE VISITS ARE FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING

NOR THEIR CONSULTANTS HAVE BEEN HIRED FOR NOR ARE WE
EXPERTS IN JOBSITE SAFETY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL
MAINTAIN STRICT ADHERENCE TO AND BE FULLY RESPONSIBLE TO
FURNISH AND MAINTAIN JOBSITE SAFETY INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: PROVIDING BARRICADES, ADEQUATE
SHORING, BRACING AND PROTECTIVE MEASURES TO SAFELY
EXECUTE THE WORK. THESE METHODS CONSTITUTE
CONTRACTOR MEANS AND METHODS AND AS SUCH WILL NOT BE
DICTATED BY THE ARCHITECT OR ANY OF THEIR CONSULTANTS. BY
PROCEEDING WITH CONSTRUCTION THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR
AGREES TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR JOBSITE SAFETY IN WHOLE AND
AS OUTLINED ABOVE.
CONTRACTOR SHALL ACT IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH CAL-OSHA
AND OSHA AS APPLICABLE.
CLEANING AND PROTECTION:
GENERAL: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DURING HANDLING
AND INSTALLATION OF WORK ON THE PROJECT SITE, CLEAN
AND PROTECT WORK IN PROGRESS AND ADJOINING WORK.
APPLY SUITABLE PROTECTIVE COVERING ON NEWLY
INSTALLED WORK WHERE REASONABLY REQUIRED TO
ENSURE THAT SAID WORK REMAINS FREE FROM DAMAGE
OR DETERIORATION SO SAID WORK IS NEW AT TIME OF
SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION.
OTHERWISE, CONTRACTOR SHALL CLEAN AND/ OR
RESTORE, ADJUST AND LUBRICATE OPERABLE PARTS TO
ENSURE OPERABILITY WITHOUT DAMAGING NEW
EQUIPMENT IN ORDER THAT AT SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION
THE WORK IS IN NEW CONDITION.
UPON COMPLETION OF WORK, PROJECT SITE TO BE
CLEANED READY FOR OCCUPANCY.
QUALITY OF MATERIALS, FIXTURES AND EQUIPMENT.
CONTRACTOR HEREBY WARRANTS THE OWNER THAT ALL
MATERIALS, FIXTURES, AND EQUIPMENT FURNISHED TO THE
PROJECT ARE NEW UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. CONTRACTOR
ALSO WARRANTS THAT ALL WORK WILL BE OF GOOD QUALITY AND
FREE FROM FAULTS AND/ OR DEFECTS.
TEMPORARY UTILITIES/ SERVICES. CONTRACTOR SHALL ARRANGE
AND PAY FOR ALL TEMPORARY UTILITY SERVICES AND
CONNECTIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION.
SCALING OFF DRAWINGS. DO NOT SCALE OFF THESE DRAWINGS.
DIMENSIONS. ALL DIMENSIONS ARE TO FACE OF STUDS,
CONCRETE OR EDGE OF WALL JAMB, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
COORDINATION OF WORK. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
COORDINATION OF THE WORK BETWEEN ALL SUBCONTRACTORS/
TRADES.
SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS. IF SPECIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN
PREPARED FOR THE PROJECT, THEY SHALL BE REVIEWED AND
FOLLOWED BY THE CONTRACTOR. DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN THE
SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS WITHIN THESE CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE
ARCHITECT FOR CLARIFICATION.
SURFACE PREPARATION. ANYONE SUPPLYING LABOR AND/OR
MATERIALS TO THE PROJECT SHALL CAREFULLY EXAMINE
SURFACES TO RECEIVE WORK. ANY CONDITIONS DETRIMENTAL TO
WORK SHALL BE REPORTED IN WRITING TO THE ARCHITECT PRIOR
TO BEGINNING THE WORK. COMMENCEMENT OF WORK BY THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL CONSTITUTE ACCEPTANCE OF SURFACE
PREPARATION/ CONDITION AND A WARRANTY TO THE OWNER THAT
SURFACE PREP WAS IN ACCORDANCE WITH MFR'S WRITTEN
INSTRUCTIONS.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT STORAGE. MATERIAL(S) OR
EQUIPMENT STORED AT THE SITE SHALL BE PROTECTED/
SUPPORTED ABOVE THE FLOOR SURFACE/ COVERED, AND
OTHERWISE PROTECTED TO AVOID DAMAGE. DAMAGED MATERIAL
SHALL BE REPLACED WITH NEW AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO
OWNER.
FLOOR ELEVATIONS. ELEVATIONS WHERE INDICATED, ARE TO
TOP OF STRUCTURAL CONCRETE REFER TO LANDSCAPE/ CIVIL
DRAWINGS FOR WALKWAY PAVING ELEVATIONS.
TYPICAL DOOR JAMB. IN NEW CONSTRUCTION, ALL DOOR JAMBS
TO BE 4 INCHES UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. CONTRACTOR SHALL
CONFIRM ADEQUATE ACCESSIBLE CLEARANCE AT LATCHSIDE OF
DOOR PRIOR TO FRAMING. SEE ALSO ACCESS FLOOR PLANS AND
OTHER ACCESSIBLE REQUIREMENTS HEREIN.
INSTALLATION OF PRODUCTS. ALL PRODUCTS (ANYTHING
CREATED OR SUPPLIED BY ANOTHER, I.E. A COMPANY) INCLUDING
BUT NOT LIMITED TO FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT, ACCESSORIES,
FINISHES, TRIM, SYSTEMS, ETC. SHALL BE PROVIDED AND
INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURERS WRITTEN
INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS. IN SOME INSTANCES A
DETAIL WILL BE PROVIDED BY ARCHITECT OR CONSULTING DESIGN
PROFESSIONAL HOWEVER IN ABSENCE OF ANY DETAIL THE
CONTRACTOR IS EXPECTED TO ADHERE STRICTLY TO MFR’S
WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS. IN ABSENCE, THEREOF THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL FOLLOW THE MFR'S WRITTEN
RECOMMENDATIONS. IF THE CONTRACTOR CANNOT ACQUIRE
INSTRUCTIONS, REQUIREMENTS OR RECOMMENDATIONS
CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT AND REQUEST
INSTALLATION DIRECTION.
IN SOME INSTANCES A DETAIL WILL BE PROVIDED REQUIRING
