Item 1 - Public Comment rom: To:Jose M. Barriga; Planning Commission; Ashleigh Aitken Subject:[EXTERNAL] 412 S Anaheim Blvd Project - Comment / Letter Date:Monday, January 1, 2024 4:13:04 PM Some people who received this message don't often get email from Warning: This email originated from outside the City of Anaheim. To Whom It May Concern: As a long time resident of Anaheim and OC, I love new developments and new businesses, but this particular one is insane. There are currently three businesses shut down inside the Anaheim Packing House area and the parking situation is horrible. Imagine with another business outside and once the new businesses take over the empty spaces it will be impossible to find any parking. Not even valet parking can figure it out. With all the parking being taken over, the area is still not at a full capacity. There still needs to be more customers for the businesses to survive but parking is always unavailable. We don’t need businesses that are not bringing in any value to the area, such as this trailer bar. I see this as a very irresponsible project, the Farmers Park, where I and others love to take my kids and eat our Packing house eats will no longer be there and it will be replaced with a trailer bar exposing and encouraging people to drink outdoors. As a neighbor and a regular of the area, I have talked to the tenants inside the Packing district and neighboring businesses and they are all not happy with the conflict of interest since the developer and landlord is now a tenant competing against his own tenants owning three bars himself inside the Packing House - Hammer bar, Bxcr bar, Junk bar and now opening a fourth one in all my years of living in Anaheim I have never seen someone own so many bars and be treated differently than any other residents that want to open a small business or pull permits for a residential property. He’s obviously given privilege and priority over any other small business owner or property owner. I hope you and the Anaheim Mayor can put an end to this nonsense and not allow this project to go through and anymore for this so-called developer who you guys give so much favoritism to but does not help his own tenants succeed in their small businesses. I would like to remain anonymous. Sincerely,
