Dear Council members,
I implore you to find be?er ways to use our taxpayer dollars than was?ng it on code enforcement for street vending,
which has been decriminalized in California by the way, or on the already over-inflated police budget. Anaheim keeps
pouring money into the police budget when it could be be?er served for public services and programs. It calls into
ques?on why the council keeps approving new expenditures for the police department when they've already raised the
budget mul?ple ?mes. Where is this money going? The agenda states it's a?emp?ng to "upfit" police vehicles for
$1,259,839.38. What does "upfi?ng" entail? Why is this needed? What is the number of vehicles that need "upfi?ng?"
What makes "upfi?ng" necessary? What happens to the million and change that doesn't get used since this is "as
needed?"
Please reconsider alloca?ng this money to the parks or libraries. Public works would even be be?er considering all the
potholes all over West Anaheim. Please vote with your cons?tuents in mind and not your police union endorsements.
Thank you for you ?me.
