RESOLUTION NO. 86R-93
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM SUPPORTING A FULL ENVIRONMENTAL
REVIEW ON ALL POTENTIAL MAXIMUM SECURITY
JAIL SITES
WHEREAS, the County has identified the need for a maximum
security jail; and
WHEREAS locations are currently being examined for such a
facility; and
WHEREAS the proposed sites have not been given equal
evaluation and review; and
WHEREAS two sites in Anaheim are being considered for
said jail facility with little or no analysis and review; and
WHEREAS based upon preliminary review, the two sites
identified in the City of Anaheim appear to have serious
detrimental affects upon our City; and
WHEREAS it has been announced that the Board of
Supervisors proposes to select a jail site at its March 18, 1986,
meeting.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
Anaheim recognizes the need for additional jail beds in Orange
County and suppcrts a full environmental review under the
California Environmental Quality Act on all potential sites prior
to designating a primary site; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a detailed economic analysis
be performed on each site to ensure that taxpayer's funds are
spe~t in the most cost-efficient manner.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 17th day of March, 1986.
