RESOLUTION NO. 5329
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM GRANTING SPECIAL USE PERMIT NO. 34
TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DISTRICT CHURCH OF THE
NAZARENE TO CX>NSTRUCT A CHURCH AND CONDUCT
CHURCH SERVICES ON THE PROPERTY HEREINAFTER
DESCRIBED.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive an application from Southern California
District Church of the Nazarene Advisory Board, a Corporation,
P. O. Box 3156, Santa Ana, California, for a Special Use Permit
to construct a church and develop the following described
property for church use and the teaching and preaching of the
gospe 1:
All that certain real property situated in the City
of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows:
The South 344 feet of the Southeast quarter of the
South~est quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section
16, in To~ship 4 South, Range 10 West, being also
described as the South 344 feet of Lot 14 of Helen
and Lynch's Subdivision, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 442, Page 158 of Deeds, Records of
Los Angeles County, California.
Subject to an easement for public road over the
Easterly 20 feet of said land, as granted to Orange
County by deed dated January 26, 1916, and recorded
in Book 281, Page 353, of Deeds, Records of said
Orange County.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim upon said
application on May 18, 1959, notices of which said public hearing
~ere duly given as required by law and the provisions of Section
9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and

WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, in-
vestigation and studies made by itself and in its behalf and
after due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at
said hearing, did adopt its Resolution No. 23l -- Series 1958-59,
granting Special Use Permit No. 34, upon the conditions therein
set forth, upon the Northeast corner only of said property; and
WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty (20) days from the
date of the adoption of said resolution, a written appeal ~s
filed with the City Council of the City of Anaheim protesting
the action of the City Planning Commission in granting said
Special Use Permit, and said appeal was set for public hearing
on June 30, 1959 at 7:00 o'clock P.M. at the City Hall in the
City of Anaheim, and notice of such public hearing was duly
given as required by law and the provisions of Section 9200.17
of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such hearing
and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity to be
heard and did receive evidence and reports, and did continue
said hearing to a later date; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds, after careful con-
sideration of the recommendations of the City Planning Commission
and all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, that said
Special Use Permit should be granted upon the terms and conditions
hereinafter set forth, upon the Northeast corner only of said
property as recommended by the Planning Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the action of the City Planning Com-
mission granting said Special Use Permit, be, and the same is
hereby approved, and that Special Use Permit No. 34, be, and the
same is hereby, granted to Southern California District Church
of the Nazarene AdVisory Board, a Corporation, P. O. Box 3156,
Santa Ana, California, to construct a church and develop the
following described property for church use and the teaching and
preaching of the gospel, upon the conditions hereinafter set forth:
All that certain real property situated in the City of
Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described
as follows:
That certain parcel of land located at the Northeast
corner of the following described property having a
frontage of 175 feet on Loara Street and a depth of
378 feet:
The South 344 feet of the Southeast quarter of the
Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section
16, in Township 4 South, Range lO West, being also de-
scribed as the South 344 feet of Lot 14 of Helen and
Lynch's Subdivision, as shown on a map thereof recorded
in Book 442, Page l58 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles
County, California.
Subject to an easement for public road over the Easterly
20 feet of said land, as granted to Orange County by
deed dated January 26, 19l6, and recorded in Book 281,
Page 353, of Deeds, Records of said Orange County.
Said Special Use Permit No. 34 is granted subject to the following
terms and conditions:
1. That the buildings to be erected on the above de-
scribed property shall be constructed essentially
in accordance with the renderings and plot plan this
day presented to the City Council and on file with
the City of Anaheim.
2. That the owner of subject property deed to the City
of Anaheim a strip of land 32 feet in width, from
the center line of the street, along Loara Street
for street widening purposes.

3. That all engineering requirements of the City of
Anaheim, such as curbs and gutters, sidewalks,
street grading and paving, drainage facilities,
or other pertinent work be complied with as required
by the City Engineer and in accordance with standard
plans and specifications on file in the office of
the City Engineer.

4. That the owner of subject property pay to the City
of Anaheim the sum of $2.00 per front foot, for
street lighting purposes.
5. That a 6-foot masonry wall shall be constructed
around the north, west and south boundaries of the
property.
6. That there be established a minimum building setback
line of 50 feet to allo~ for suitable landscaping
to agree with the architect's rendering submitted
to the City of Anaheim.
7. That building plans, showing elevation and land-
scaping design, shall be submitted before final
approval of the building is given.
8. That the buildings shall be limited to one story in
height, the steeple, roof elevation, etc. to be of
a reasonable height to properly develop the church
elevation.
9. That all drive~ays and parking areas shall be paved
with concrete or high-grade asphalt, except for
those portions needed to carry out the approved
landscaping design.
lO. That construction of the buildings and all of the
above mentioned requirements shall be completed
on or before 2 years from date hereof.
ll. That if the church Wishes to expand its facilities
at a later date and use the entire parcel of property
first hereinabove described, a public hearing on
the matter shall be had.
The City Council hereby reserVes the right to revoke
such Special Use Permit for good cause or failure of said owner,
its successors or assigns to comply with the Anaheim Municipal Code
and regulations and the conditions herein.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
