AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING SECTION .150 OF CHAPTER 1.04
OF TITLE 1 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL
CODE APPOINTING THE BUILDING OFFICIAL
AS THE CHIEF BUILDING INSPECTOR AND
BUILDING OFFICIAL
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Section 1.04.150 of Chapter 1.04 of Title 1 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows in its entirety:
"1.04.150 Planning Department - Offices of Planning
Director and Chief Building Inspector.
".010 The Planning Department shall be under the
supervision of the Planning Director, which office is
hereby created. The Planning Director shall perform
the functions and duties of the Planning Director as
set forth in this Code unless such functions and
duties, or any of them, are delegated by the Planning
Director to a duly authorized designee. Any reference
in this Code to the "Director of Community Development
and Planning" shall be deemed to mean the Planning
Director unless the content clearly indicates to the
contrary.
.020 The Building Division, a division of the
Planning Department under the supervision of the
Planning Director, is hereby created. The Building
Official shall be, and perform the duties of, the Chief
Building Inspector and the Building Official as
required by this Code."
SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY
The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby declares
that should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this
ordinance of the Code, hereby adopted, be declared for any reason
to be invalid, it is the intent of the Council that it would have
passed all other portions of this ordinance independent of the
elimination herefrom of any such portion as may be declared
invalid.
SECTION 3. SAVINGS CLAUSE
Neither the adoption of this ordinance, nor the repeal
of any other ordinance of this City shall in any manner affect
the prosecution for violations of ordinances, which violations
were committed prior to the effective date hereof, nor be
construed as a waiver of any license or penalty or the penal
provisions applicable to any violation thereof. The provisions
of this ordinance, insofar as they are substantially the same as
ordinance provisions previously adopted by the City relating to
the same subject matter, shall be construed as restatements and
continuations, and not as new enactments.
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE AND PUBLICATION
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days
from and after the date of its adoption by the City Council.
Publication of this Ordinance shall be effected in accordance
with the requirements of the Anaheim City Charter.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 22nd day of June
1999.
