A RESOLUTION OF THE OITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A PETI~ION FOR
THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, DESIGNATING THE TERRITORY
AS THE SUNKIST AND LA PALMA ANNEXATION

THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, HOUR AND
PLACE WHERE AND WHEN ANY PERSON OWNING REAL
PROPERTY WITHII SUCH TERRITORY SO PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED MAY APPEAR BEFORE THE CITY COUICIL AND
SHOW OAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE
ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on
the lqth day of May , 19...52...., receive a written
petition asking that certain new territory desoribed in said petition
be annexed to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, before the filing of said petition, the proposal
for the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City
of Anaheim was submitted to the Boundary Oommission of the Oounty of
Orange, State of California, and reported upon by said Boundary
Commission with respect to the definiteness and oertainty of the
proposed boundaries; and
WHEREAS, said territory proposed to be annexed to said Oity
of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California,
and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited territory,
and said petition oontained a description of said territory in words
and figures as hereinafter in this Resolution desoribed; and
WHEREAS, the City Counoil finds from evidenoe and reports
reoeived that at the time of the filing and receipt of said petition,
it was and now is signed by owners of not less than one-fourth <i)
of the land in the territory by area and by assessed value in the
territory proposed to be annexed, according to the last preoeding
equalized county assessment roll; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from evidenoe and reports
received and from said petition that at the time Of the filing and
presentation of said petition that said new territory proposed to be
annexed to said City of Anaheim did not form a part of any municipal
oorporation and that said territory was uninhabited and is oontiguous
to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds from said petition and
evidenoe and reports received that the boundaries of the territory
so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim are as follows,
to wit:

SUNKIST AND LA PALMA ANNEXATION
A parcel of land located in the County of Orange, State of California, being
a portion of the northeast quarter of Section 12, Township 4 South, Range 10
West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the existing City limits line as established by
the North Sunkist Annexation to the City of Anaheim, passed by Ordinance No.
1002 on July 26, 1955, and fi led with the Secretary of State on September 2,
1955, said point of beginning being 20 feet easterly of the west line of the
northeast quarter of said Section 12, and 250.00 feet southerly of the north
line of the northeast quarter of said Section 12; thence,
1. Southerly along a line parallel with and 20.00 feet easterly of the west
line of the northeast quarter of said Section 12, to the point of intersection
with the south line of the north half of the south half of the northeast quarter
of said Section 12; thence,
2. Easterly along the south line of the north half of the south half of the
northeast quarter of said Section 12 to the point of intersection with the
east line of the west half of the northeast quarter of said Section 12; thence,
3. Northerly along the east line of the west half of the northeast quarter
of said Section 12 to the point of intersection with the north line of the
southerly 330.00 feet of the north half of the northwest quarter of the northeast
quarter of said Section 12; thence,
4. Westerly along the last mentioned north line of the southerly 330.00
feet of the north half of the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter to
the point of inte~section with the west line of the east half of the north
half of the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of said Section 12;
thence,
5. Northerly along the last mentioned west line to the point of intersection
with the southerly line of the northerly 250.00 feet of the northeast quarter
of said Section 12; thence,
6. We~terly along the last mentioned southerly line of the northerly

beginning.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that sllch propo>sed annexation be designated as
_~SUNKIST ~ 1 A PAl MA ANNF-XATTON" and that
notice of such proposed annexation be hereby given as hereinafter
provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a pUblic hearing shall be had
upon the date set)) :net less than forty (40) nor more than sixty (60)
days after the passage of this Resolution, unless the owner or owners
of all of the territory to be annexed have petitioned for annexation
or filed their consents to such annexation, in writing, with the City
Council. in which event the heari.ng shall be set at any time after
compliance with Section 35311 of the Government Code.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Cl ty Council does find
that the owner Or owners of all of the territory proposed to be
annexed have. ngt . petl~ioned for annexatlon or flIed their consents
to such annexation" in <wrltlng!! with the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 10th day of June
19-22 D at the hQur of ~JlL90~~_ o'clock ~M'9 at the Clty Council
Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Anaheim be. and the same 1s
hereby" fixed as the day, hour and place when and where the City
Council will hear protests made by any owner or owners of real
property within the terT'itory proPQs(\'ld to be annexed; and that at any
time before the hQur set feCi'!" hearlng objections, any owner of
property w5thir: sald+;erritory may flle with the City Clerk a written
protest against the annexation" Said protest shall be in writing
and shall state the name of the,wtH:i%" of the property affected and
the description and area of the property i,n general terms.

above proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, to wit: The

hereinabove specified.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 01 ty Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be~ and she 1s hereby, authorized and directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to eaoh
person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed 18
assessed, in the last equalized county assessment roll available" on
the date the proceedings were inl~iated. at the address shown on said
assessment rell or as known to said City Clerk" and to any person
who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in
which he has any interest, either legal or equltable~ with said
Clerk; and in the event that land w1t~~n the territory proposed to
be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County. the City
Clerk of the City of Anaheim shall also oause written notioe of suoh
proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors ot such
County. The foregoing noti.cea shall be given not less than twenty
(20) days before the first pUblic hearing on the proposed annexation.
