WHIRIAS. the City Oouncil of the City of Anaheim does
find and determine that public convenience and ~.$sity require the
acquisition ~f materials, plant. labor and services for a public
improvement consisting of the construction and completion of an 8-foot
chain link fence around the perimeter of the city yard at the northeast
corner of Crescent AvelIl1e and Brookhurst Street. behind Fire Station
No.2. Job Bo. 454-.1.
WHEREAS. Section 1770 of the Labor Oode of the State of Cali-
fornia requires that the City Oouncil ascertain and determine the general
prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and. over-
time work on public WOX"ks 'and improvements in the locality in which the
work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman. laborer or
mechanic needed for the execution of such public contraets and the making
of such public improvements. and for the furnishing of all plant. labor,
services. materials, and equipment and performing all work necessary for
the execution and completion of such public contracts or improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City CoUncil of the City
of Anaheim that. in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of
the Labor Code of the State of California. the City Council has ascer-
tained and does hereby determine the general prevailing rate of hourly
wages and rates for legal holid~s and overtime work on public works. and
the public improvement consisting of the construction and cowpletion of
an 8-foot chain link: fence around the perimeter of the city yard at the
northeast corner of Crescent AvelIl1e and Brookhurst Street, in the City
of Anaheim.. behind Fire Station No.2. Job No. 454-A. and that said pre-
vailing rates so determined are as follows;

The foregoing wage scale and rates are for an eight hour
day, forty hourweek, time and one-half for overtime and double time
SUlld.qs aDd holidays. except as otherwise provided in the May. 1958,
revision of the A. G. C.. B. C. A.. H. B. I., E. G. O. A., A. F. L.-
C. 1. O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplements.
which shall govern for such overtime and double time pay. and for
the wage scales for Foremen not otherwise listed above. Holidays as
herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's lay. Memorial
De,y, Independence De,y, Labor Day. Veterans' De,y, Thanksgiving Day,
and Christ... Day. If any of the above lIlentioned holidays, other
than Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day, falls on Sunday, the Monday
following shall be oonsidered a legal holiday.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and
holiday work shall be in accordance with the following; Where a
single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, except
for lunch periods, shall oonstitute a day's work beginning on Monday
and oontinuing through Fride,y each week. Where work is required in
excess of eight hours in any one day or during the int.rval of tille
from 5:00 PM Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday night, such
work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half (ll>
times the basio rate of waKes. and on Sundays and holidays liIl1ch work
shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages,
except as otherwise provided in the May. 1958. revision of the A. G. C..
B. O. A.. H. B. I., E. G. C. A.. A. J. L. - C. I. O. Southern Oalifornia
Master Labor Agreement and Supplements.
Properly indentured apprentices to 8XlY of the trades listed
above may be employed upon such puhlic improvements with skilled work-
men. subjeot to the provisions of Seotion 1777.50 of the Labor Code
of the State of 4alifornia. the wage rates for such apprentices to be
determined as provided in said Seotion 1777.50.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by lie this
