and determine that public conTenience and necessity require the ac-
quisition of materials, plant, labor and serTices for a po.blic improTe-
ment consisting of the construction and completion of Fire Station No.4,
at 2736 West Orange ATenue. in the City of Anaheim, Job No. 431; end
WHEREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of
California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine the
general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidqs
and oTerUme work on po.blic works and imprOTements in the locality in
whiCh the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of work:lllan,
laborer or meChanic needed for the execution of such po.blic contracts
and the llI8king of such public improTements. and for the furnishing of
all plant, labor, serTices. materials and equipaent and. performing all
work necessary for the execution and completion of suCh po.blic contracts
or illlprOTements;
NOW. THEBDORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that. in accordance with the proTisions of Section 1770
of the Labor Code of the State of California. the City Council has as-
certained and does hereby determine the general prevailing rate of
hourly wages and rates for legal holidqs and oTertime work on public
works, and the public improvement consisting of the construction and
completion of Fire Station No. 4 at 2736 West Orange ATenue, in the
City of Anaheim, Job No. 431, in the locality in which such work is
to be performed and each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic
needed for the execution of public works contracts or contracts for
furnishing all plant, materials. labor, services and equipment for the
public imprOTement consisting of the construction and completion ot
Fire Station No. 4 at 27.36 West Orange ATenue. in the City of Anaheim,
Job No. 431, and. that said preTailing rates so determined are as

All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be paid
as provided in the ~, 1958 reTision of the A.G.O.. B.C.A., H.B.I.,
E.G.C.A., A.F.L.-C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement
and Supplements.
The foregoing wage scale and rates are for an eight hour
day, forty hour week, time and one-half for oTertime and double time
Sundays and holid~s. except as otherwise proTided in the May, 1958,
reTision of the A.G.O., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.r.L.-C.I.O.
Southern California Master Labor Agreement and Supplements, whiCh
shall gOTern for such overtime and double time p~, and for the wage
scale for Foremen not otherwise listed aboTe. Holidays as herein
referred to shall be deemed to be New Year's Day, lIemorial D~, Inde-
pendence Day-, Labor Day, Veterans' D~, Thanksgiving Day, and Christ-
mas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays, other than Labor
Day and Thanksgiving Day-, falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall
be considered a legal holiday.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and
holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single
shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment, escept for lunch
:periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continu-
ing through :B'riday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight
hours in ~ one day or during the intel'Ta1 of time from 5:00 P. M.
Friday and. 12:00 o'clock lIidnight Saturday night, such work shall be
paid for at the lIlinillWll rate of one and one-half (1!-) times the basic
rate of wages, and. on Sundays and holidays suCh work shall be paid for
at the minillWll rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as
otherwise provided in the May, 1958 revision of the A.G.O., B.C.A.,
H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.r.L.-C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agree-
ment and Supplements.
Properly indentured apprentices to any of the trades listed
above may be employed upon such public improTements with skilled workmen.
subject to the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code of the
State of California, the wage rates for such apprentices to be determined
as provided in said Section 1777.5.
TEE FOREGOING llEsOLUTION is approved and signed by me this
