Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and are expecting the message. To the Anaheim City Council, My name is Fernando Miller. I am a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 7, and a working musician at Disneyland. As you are likely aware, Disneyland holds a special place in the hearts of many, and the experience provided by its musicians and artists is integral to the park's magic. Disneyland has played a significant role in my life, providing me with countless opportunities to live a healthy and productive life. I owe much of my success, including building a family and a future, to the support and opportunities afforded to me by Disneyland. I wish to express my support for the Disneyland Forward Initiative under certain conditions. It is crucial that this City Council ensures the fair treatment and rights of all musicians employed at the Disneyland Resort. Therefore, I urge this City Council to demand the following: 1. All current and future musicians working at any part of the Disneyland Resort must be union musicians operating under the established Collective Bargaining Agreement. 2. Musicians currently employed at the Disneyland Resort, including Downtown Disney, should no longer be misclassified as independent contractors or third-party vendors. 3. The welfare and working conditions of musicians and all entertainment staff must be included in Disneyland construction plans. This includes providing adequate break rooms, instrument storage facilities, and safe performance spaces. 4. These commitments should be documented in writing to ensure the safety and rights of all current and future Disneyland musicians. I believe that by implementing these measures, the City Council can safeguard the livelihoods and working conditions of the musicians and artists who contribute significantly to the Disney environment and experience. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I sincerely hope that you will consider the importance of these conditions in ensuring a fair and sustainable environment for Disneyland musicians. Sincerely, Fernando A Miller Member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 7 1
