WlIEJ-iEAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does
.find and determine that public convenience and necessity require
the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for a
public improvement consisting of the designing, construction and
completion of a 12-KV substation on the ~Jest side of Gilbert
Street, 700 feet south of Crescent Avenue, in the City of Anaheim,
~vor'k Order l~O. 2602 ; and
~'l[-:lEREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State
of California requires that the City Council ascertain and de-
termine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates
for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and im-
provements in the locality in which the work is to be performed,
for each craft 01' type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed
for the execution of sllch public contracts and the making of
such public improvements, and for the furnishing of all plant,
labor, services, materials and equipment and performing all
work necessary for the execution and completion of such con-
tracts or improvements;
NOW, TnEREFOFE, BE 1'1' ~~ESOLVED by the City Council
of ~he City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions
of Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California,
the City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the
general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal
holidays and overtime work on public works, and the public
improvement consisting of the designing, construction and com-
pletion of a 12-KV substation on the west side of Gilbert
Street, 70l feet south of Crescent Avenue, in the City of Anaheim,
Work Order No. 2602 , in ~he locality in which such work is to
be performed, and each craft 01' type of laborer, workman or
mechanic needed for the executIon of public works contracts or
contracts for furnisning all plant, la~or, materials, services
and equipment for the designin,;, construction and completion or
said 12~KV substation on tne west side of Gilbert Street, 700

All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be
paid as orovided in the May, 1958, revision of the A.3.C., B.G.A.,
H.:~.I., E.G.C.A., A.2.L.-C.I.J. Southern Calif'ornia Haster Labor
Agreement.
A~)prentices may be eccployed in coe.formi ty with Section
1777.5 of the California Labor Coee.
The rates of per diem wases for each of the various
classifications of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth
prevailing rates of hourly waGes multiplied by eight. Eight
hours shall constitute a day.s work, it being understood that
ie the event that workmen are enployed less than eight hours
per day the per diem wage Shall be that fraction of the per
diem wage :CleTein established that the number of hours of employ-
ment bears to eight hours.
The overtime rule estahlishing the rates of overtime
and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following;
where a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous
employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's
work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each
week. where work is required in excess of eight hours in any
orJe day oI!----during the interval of time from 5:00 P.E. Friday
and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid
for at the minimum rate of one anJ one-half times the basic rate
of wa:;es, aDd on Sundays and hGlidays such Hork shall be paid
fay- at tbe minimum rate oE' double the basic rate of wages,
except as otherwise provided in the May, 1958 revision of the

Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be
NeH Year1s Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Veterans. Day, Thanksgiving DFY and Christmas Day. If any of
the above mentioned holidays other than Labor Day and Thanks-
.~iving Day falls on Sunday, the .following Monday shall be con-
sidered a le~al holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the
contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay
not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers,
'workmen and mect,anics employed by tne'1J in the execution of' the
contract.
