Broadway4:30 p.m. Anaheim, CA 92805 CALL TO ORDER – The agenda having been posted on March 9, 2023, the regular meeting of the Anaheim Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Chair Laviguer at 4:33 p.m. PRESENT:Rose Chen, Michelle Dang, Shelby Hogan, David Laviguer ABSENT:Linda Newby STAFF:Audrey Lujan – City Librarian, Jennifer Foxx – PT Management Assistant I.INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND COMMUNICATION FROM OTHERS: A.FRIENDS OF THE ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT: Their next monthly outdoor sale is March 17, 2023. B.FRIENDS OF THE CANYON HILLS LIBRARY: The February Flash Sale was a success. thth The next Flash Sale is April 6-7. Donations of books and puzzles in good condition are needed. Canyon Hills Branch Library Manager April Ray was instrumental in creating the new FOCAL logo. Their next meeting is March 16, 2023. C.ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION REPORT: Tickets for the APL Foundation’s 2023Mystery Author’s Luncheon on April 30, 2023 are still on sale through Eventbrite. More information is available at www.anaheimlibraryfoundation.com. D.COMMUNICATION FROM OTHERS: None. II.APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 13, 2023 MEETING: The minutes were approved as presented. III.UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None. IV.NEW BUSINESS: A.ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY ADDITIONAL HOURS: Per Anaheim City Council action on February 28, 2023, Central, Haskett, and East Anaheim Libraries will add Sunday hours and Canyon Hills and Sunkist Branch Libraries will restore Saturday hours as of July 1, 2023. The action included funding for additional staff needed to cover these public service hours. TH B.BOOKMOBILE 65 ANNIVERSARY CITY COUNCIL PROCLAMATION: The th Bookmobile will celebrate its 65 Anniversary on April 25, 2023, at the Miraloma Park Family Resource Center. ITEM # 01 Anaheim Public Library Board Meeting March 13, 2023 Page 2 V.INFORMATION A.CITY LIBRARIAN’S REPORT: The Samueli Foundation provided generous funding to redesign the Euclid Children’s area. The Sunkist Library has added additional programs for children, teens, adults, and seniors. The program attendance at Sunkist for 1 month was 927 for 40 programs, which was the highest number in the system with the exception of Mobile Library for that month. Mobile Library services had 1,989 in attendance at their programs. B.BUDGET: The Library is receiving additional funding for the additional public services hours that were approved by City Council on February 28, 2023, to begin July 1, 2023. VI.ACTIVITY REPORTS A.STATISTICS: None. B.ACTIVITY REPORTS: None. C.MONTHLY RECOGNITION OF SUPPORT/CERTIFICATE BY BOARD MEMBERS: None. VII.BOARD ITEMS MEMBER SHELBY HOGAN: None. MEMBER MICHELLE DANG: Has been receiving feedback from adults who enjoyed the STEAM programs with their children so much that they are returning to check out the STEAM Kits to take home. MEMBER ROSE CHEN: Enjoyed seeing the Park Passes from the Library being used at the Chino Hills State Park. CHAIR LAVIGUER: None. VIII.MISCELLANEOUS A.NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be April 10, 2023, at the Euclid Library. B.ADJOURNMENT: Chair Laviguer adjourned the meeting at 5:26 p.m.
