A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAfillIM APPROVING AND AU;THORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF A1'i AGREEV1ENT WITH THE ORANGE
COUNTY PEACE OFB'I CEBS ASSUGIA'rI O:N ~ ING.,
RELATI~G TO THE USE OF ITS TARGET RANGE.
WHEP~S, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
heretofore enter into an agreement with the Orange County Peace
Officers Association, Inc., for the use of the Association's
target range for the training of Anaheim police offers; and
WHEREAS, the number of officers using said range has
increased to 75 officers; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable by the City Council
and the officers of the Orange County Peace Officers Associa-
tion, Inc., to amend the contract heretofore entered into so
as to include 75 officers, and to make certain other minor
amendments to the agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable to execute a new
agreementt6 beeffecl;lve as of the 2nd day of March, 1959,
embodying the provisions of the old agreement and the amend-
ments agreed upon, a copy of said proposed new contract being
attached hereto and made a part hereof.
NOW, T~~REFOHE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the agreement heretofore made and
entered into by and between the City of Anaheim and Orange
County Peace Officers Association, Inc. be amended and a new
contract entered into with said Orange County Peace Officers
Association, Inc. upon the terms and conditions set forth in
that certain agreement dated March 3, 1959, this day submitted
to the City Council, a copy of which contract is attached here-
to and made a part hereof; and that the Mayor and City Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute
said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.

, herein called USER, and the ORANGE COUNTY PEACE OFFIC~RS
ASSOCIATION, INC., a Corporation, herein called A,30CIATI)N.

on Struck Ayenue just east of the Santa Ana River, in the County of Irange,
State of California, which is open for the training of Peace Officers and
other approved g~oups; and
~:il'ZREAS, USER desires that certain of its employees have regular train-
ins in fir.araa use at said range;
NCM, TBE;~EFORE, in consideration of the oblip;ation.'l herein contained,
it is agreed by and between the parties hereto that:
FIRST: This A.greement shall take effect on the 2nd day of Marah
lq5~, and shall continue in effect for a period of one year, the period for
which the Range Fee payment has beea made, and shall be renewed without the
n.cessity for enterins into a new Agreement for further periods of one year
at a time on the same terms and conditions excepting that the number of men
..y be changed by written notice, st~ting the new number and the names of the
men authorized by USER to train on said range, and the amount of ammunition
each man is authorized to draw, and by payment of the annual Range Fee for

such new number in advance, as hereinbelow, in Paragraph S~OND pro~ided for.
In event of chan~e in employment status of any of the men authorized to so
train, I1SER may l5ubstltute a different man by giving :,SSOCIA.TIJN written
notice of the new name, the name to be deleted, and the nntdre of the chlin~e
in ea'PloY'lllent status.
SJ:;~0rJt>: USER desires that 75 men shall fire reguhrly on
said ~&n~e and agrees to pay the annual fee of Twelve Dollars (112.00) per

aen, in advance, as the Range Fee for one year. If USER desires to increase
this number of men d:lring the prepaii one year, it a~rees to pay in advance
an amount computed on the basis of One Dollar (11.00) per month, or fraction
thereof, for each additional man authorized to use said range, for each month

responsible for damage caused by the use of the same.
FOURTH: USER agrees to furnish a list of names of the men authorized
by it to sh~ot on said range and paid for ill advance. Such men may use said
range during any of the hours while it is open, and as many times per week

delivery, ASSOCIATION reserves the right to refuse to issue any
ammunition under USER authorization until USER has furnished a

FIFTH: ASqOCIATTOt. 'l'TEI provide the use of its target range,
l!Iupervised by a ~'(-)",~.ent Range Master, together with all targets
used, will keep ,., '"().'ds of each man who fires on sald range, and
will report the AcerRS to Chief of Police or designated agent of
USER at the end of each month. Association reserves the right to
prohibit the use of any gun or ammunition on said target range
that its Range Master considers to be unsafe.
SIXTH: ASSOCIATION will keep said target range open for the
use of USERIS employees, unless inclement weather, damage to
equipment or disaster in the area makes operation impractical,
from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. daily, excepting Mondays, Tuesdays, New
Year's Day, Thanksgiving, Easter Sunday, Christmas, and the Fourth
Sunday of each month. It is understood tha.t ASSOCIATION may
close said range for necessary repairs, improvement, alteration

closed, prior nntir0 will be given to the Chief of Police or eff-
ected Department b~ad of USER, and the period covered by the Range

SSVENTH: Either party may terminate this Agreement by giving
written notice to the other party of intention so to do JO days
prior to the end of any Range Fee period. Since the cost of ammu-
n~tjon components have been increa.sing rapidly and ma.y continue so

to do, fiSSOCIATION reserves the right during the term of this Agree-
roent :0 increase the price charged for ammunition, when in the
