WRERlA~. the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and
determine that public convenience and necessity require the acquisitioD of
materials, plant, labor and serTices for the public i~rovement, includiDg
the construction, in.tal1atioD and completion, of sewers and water works
project. in the City of Anaheim; and
WHIRllAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of
California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine the general
preTailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime
work OD public works and improvements in the locality in which the work is
to be perfo~ed, for each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic
needed for the execution of such public contracts and the making of such
public improTements. and for the furnishing of all plant, labor, serTices.
material. and equipment and performing all work necessary for the execation
and completion of said public contracts or improvements;
lrOW. THIRElORE. BE IT RESOLViD by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provi.ions of Section 1770 of the
Labor Code of the State of California. the City Council has asoertained and
does hereby determine the general preTai1ing rate of hourly wages and rates
for legal holidays and OTertime work on public works and the public improve-
ment of sewers and water works projects in the City of Anaheim in the
locality in which such work is to be performed for each craft or type of
laborer. workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public works con-
tracts or contracts for the furnishing of all plant. materials. labor,
serTices and equipment for the public improvement, including the construction,
installation and completion, of sewers and water works projects in the City
of Anaheim, and that said prevailing rates so determined are as follows:

!he foregoing wage scale and rates are for an eight hour ~,
forty hour week, time an& one-half for overtime and double time Sudays and
holidays. except as otherwise prOTided in the MaT. 1958, revision of the
A.G.O., B.O.A.. H.B.I.. K.G.C.A., A.l.L.-C.I.O. Southern California Master
Labor Agreement and Supplements, which shall govern for 8uch overtime and
double time pq. and for the wage scale for loremen not otherwise listed
above. Holidays as herein referred to ahal1 be deemed to be Bew Year's Dq,
Meaoria1 Dq, Independence Day. Labor Dq, Teterans' Day, ThanksgiviDg Dq,
and Christmas Dq. If IUIY of the abOTe mentioned holidays, other than Labor
Dq and !hanksgiving Dq, falls on Sundq, the Monday following shall be
considered a legal holi~.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and ho1id8T
work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is
worked, eight hours of continuous emplo,raent, except for lunch periods,
shall constitute a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through
hiday each week. Where work is required in exce88 of eight hours in ffll7
one day or during the interval of time frOll 5:00 P. M. hiday and 12:00
o'clOCk midnight Saturdq night, such work shall be paid for at the minillUll
rate of one and one-half (Ii) times the basic rate of wages. and on Sundqs
and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of double the
basic rate of ~es. except as otherwise provided in the May, 1958 revision
of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A.. A.l.L.-C.I.O. Southern California
Master Labor Agreement and Supplements.
Properly indentured apprentices to aD7 of the trades listed above
u.y be employed upon such pablic improvements with skilled workmen, subject
to the prOTisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code of the State of
California, the wage rates for such apprentices to be determined as pro-
vided in said Section 1177.5.
