58R-4945 ~ RESOLUTION NO. 4945 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQ,UESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF LA PALMA AVENUE. La Palma 660 feet WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve Avenue, from 660 feet West of Magnolia Avenue to East of Gilbert Street; and WHEREAS, La Palma Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest; and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9 Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1959-60 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Counoil of the City of Anaheim hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $12,000.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to ala said City in the improvement of La Palma Avenue, from 660 feet West of Magnolia Avenue to 660 feet East of Gilbert Street, and for the acquisition of neoessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project statement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on La Palma Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Finanoing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1959-60. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road Commissioner, Court House Annex, Santa Ana, California.
