RESOLUTION NO. 4415
A RESOLUTIO~ OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DENYING VARIANCE NO. 905.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive a petition from Arvids and Inta Teters who
are purchasing certain real property situated in the City of
Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, described as
follows:
The Northerly 57.25 feet of that portion of Vineyard
Lot G-6, in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange
State of California, as per map recorded in Book 4,
Pages 629 and 630 of Deeds, in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, described
as follows:
Beginning at a point 144.75 feet Westerly measured at
right angles from the monumental center line of South
Palm Street and 38.25 feet Northerly, measured at right
angles from the monumental center line of West Water
Street; thence Northerly parallel with said center line
of South Palm Street, 513.25 feet to the Northerly line
of the land conveyed to John Griesell, et al., recorded
May 7, 1946 in Book 1401, Page 449 of Official Records,
in the office of the County Recorder of said Orange
County; thence Easterly along said Northerly line 110
feet to a point 34.75 feet westerly at right angles from
the monumental center line of South Palm Street; thence
Southerly along a line parallel to said monumental center
line of South Palm Street, 513.25 feet, more or less, to
a point in a line 38.25 feet Northerly, measured at right
angles from the monumental center line of West Water
Street, which line is the northerly line of West Water
Street, as fixed by that certain deed recorded January 8,
1927 in Book 10, Page 81 of Official Records, in the
office of the County Recorder of said Orange County;
thence Westerly along said Northerly line of West Water
Street, 110 feet to the point of beginning.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim upon said
petition on February 3, 1958, notices of which said public hearing
were duly given as required by law and the provisions of Section
9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and

WHEREAS, said City Planning Commission, after due in-
spection, investigation and studies made by itself and in its
behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hearing, did adopt Resolution No. 177 -- Series
1957-58, recommending that Variance No. 905 be denied; and
WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty (20) days from the
date of the adoption of said resolution a written appeal was filed
with the City Council of the City of Anaheim protesting the action
of the City Planning Commission denying said variance, and said
appeal was set for public hearing on the 4th day of March, 1958,
at 7:00 o'clock P.M., in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
notice of such public hearing was duly given as required by law
and the provisions of Section 9200.17 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code; and

WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such public
hearing and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity
to be heard, and did close said hearing and defer action on said
variance until March 18, 1958; and
WHEREAS, after due investigation and studies made by
itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration of all the
evidence and reports offered at said hearing, the City Council
does find that:
1. There is no substantial property right
possessed by other property in the same
vicinity and zone and denied the subject
property.
2. It appears that the subject property can
be adequately developed and used under
the present zone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the action of the City Planning Commdssion
denying Variance No. 905 requesting permission to operate an
Interior Decorating Shop, on the property hereinabove described,
be, and the same is hereby sustained, and that Variance No. 905 be,
and the same is hereby denied.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 18th day of March, 1958.

March, 1958.
