58R-4404 RESOLUT ION NO. 4404 ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATe Of WAGES TO BE PAID FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN, OR MECHANIC NEEDED fOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS fOR mE fURNISHING OF ALL MATERIALS, PLANT, LABOR AND SERVICES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION Of A CON- CRETE BLOCK COMfORT STATION, IN THE CITY PARK, NORT~NEST CORNER Of CYPRESS AND LEMON STREETS, CITY OF ANAHEIM, JOB NO. 421. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find and determine that public convenience and neces- sity require the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for a public improvement consisting of the construc- tion and completion of a concrete block comfort station in the City Park, Northwest Corner of Cypress and Lemon Streets in the City of Anaheim, Job No. 421; and WHSREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages am rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works and improvements in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution of such public contracts and the making of such public improvements, and for the fur- nishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipmed and performing all work necessary for the execution and com- pletion of such public contracts or improvements; NOW, THEREfORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor COd2 of the State of California, the City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and overtime work on public works, and the public improvement consisting of the construction and completion of a concrete block comfort station in the City Park, Northwest Corner of Cypress and Lemon Streets in the City of Anaheim, Job No. 421, in the locality in which such work is to be per- formed and each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed for the execution of public works contracts or con- tracts for furnishing all plant, materials, labor, services and equipment for the pub1 ic improvement consisting of the construction and completion of a concrete blOCK comfort sta- tion in the City Park, Northwest Corner of Cypress and Lemon Streets, City of Anaheim, Job No. 421, and that said prevail- ing rates so determined are as follows: - -1- CLASSIFICATION - Carpenters: Carpenter Hardwood Floor Worker Table Power Saw Operator Mi llwr ight Saw Fi! er Cement Masons: Cement Mason Cement Mason (Compo$itton or Mastic) Cement Floor Finishing Machine Operator Iron Workers: Reinforcing Iron Worker Structural Iron Worker Fence Erector Welder: Same wage scale as craft to which welding is incidental. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall hp n::l;rl f't'\7" ~+ +'h~ tTIl9"\.f............-. __.L_ ~~ .. .... ... . All foremen, unless separately classified, shall be paid as provided in the May, 1957 revision of the A.G.C., B.e.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L. - C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Apprentices may be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the California Labor Code. The rates of per diem wages for each of the various classifications of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth prevailing rates of hourly wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours shall constitute a day's work, it being understood that in the event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein established that the number of hours of em- ployment bears to eight hours. The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime and holiday work shall be in accordance with the following: Where a single shift is worked, eiSht hours of continuous employment, except for lunch periods, shall constitue a day's work beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is required in excess of eight hours in any one day or during the interval of time from 5:00 o'clock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work sha,ll be paid for at the minimum rate of double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in the May, 1957 revision of the A.G.C., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L. - C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement. Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be New Years Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanks- giving Day, falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a legal holiday. IT SHALL BE ~~DATORY upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers, workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execu- tion of the contract.
