RESOLUTION NO. 67R- 65
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIH APPROVING M~D AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREE~lliNT BETWEEN JM~S,
POND & CLARK, INC. AND CIRCLE SEAL PRODUCTS
CO., INC., AND 'l'HE CITY OF ANAHEIM RELATING
TO THE DEPUTIZING OF GUARDS FOR THE PURPOSE
OF DIRECTING TRAFFIC ENTERING, LEAVING, AND
TRAVERSING THAT PORTION OF BROOKHURST STREET
WnICH BORDERS THE CIRCLE SEAL CENTER PROPERTY.
~VHEREAS, many employees and visitors of the Circle
Seal Center enter and leave the Circle Seal Center property in
the City of Anaheim by way of Brookhurst Street; and
~VHEREAS, it is desirable to use specified employees
as. guards to direct traffic entering, leaving and traversing
that portion of Brookhurst Street which borders said Circle
Seal Center property, and to have such guards deputized by the
City of Anaheim as officers of the Anaheim Police Department
for the purpose of investing them with adequate legal authority
to direct traffic at said location; and
WHEREAS, a form of agreement dated January 2, 1967
has this day been submitted to the City Council to be made ~ld
entered into between James, Pond & Clark, Inc. and Circle Seal
Products Co., Inc. and the City of Anaheim providing for the
aeputizing of such guards and providing for adequate insurance
coverage to protect the City against all claims for d~nage or
injury arising by reason of any act, omission or neglect on
the part of said patrol guards; and .
m-iEREAS, the City Council does finO. that said agree-
ment would be for the benefit and best interest of the city and
should be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT IillSOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the agreement this day submitted to the
City Council dated January 2,.1967, to be made and entered into
between the City and James, Pond & Clark, Inc. and Circle Seal
Products Co., Inc., providing for the deputizing of guards to
direct traffic entering, leaving and traversing that portion of
Brookhurst Street which borders the Circle Seal Center property
north of La Palma Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, upon the terms
and conditions therein set forth, be and the same is hereby
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the ~.layor and City Clerk
be and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of .the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 3lst day of January , 1967.
