A RESOLUTION OF '!HE CITY COUl(CIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AGREE-
MENT TO BE MADE AND ENTERED INTO BY .uD BE'l'WEEN
'!'HE CITY OF ANAHEIM AND THOKAS L. McLAUGHLIN
AID BLANCHE S. McLAUGHLIN FOR THE PURCHASE OF
CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR STREET WIDENING PURPOSES
AID FOR mE REMOVAL OF A DWELLING HOUSE FROM
SAID PROPERTY.

WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is desirous of widening
and improving Placentia Avenue, and desires an easement for road
and public utility purposes over, under, and across the Easterly
53 feet <as measured at right angles to the monumented center
line of Placentia Avenue) of the following described parcel or
land owned by Thomas L. McLaughlin and Blanche S. McLaughlin,
husband and wire, situated in the City of Anaheim, County of
Orange, State of California:
That portion of Lot 16 of Anaheim Extension as
shown on a map or survey made by William Hamel
and filed in the office or the County Recorder
of Los Angeles County, California, more par-
ticularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the center line of
Placentia Avenue, South 0015'15" West 702.20
feet from the Northeast corner or said Lot,
thence South 0015'15" West 136.12 feet along
said center line to an angle point on the Easterly
line of Tract #2205 as per map recorded in Book
64, Pages 33 et seq of Miscellaneous Maps in the
ofrice of the County Recorder of said County,
thence at right angles North 89054'45" West
50.00 feet to the beginning of a non-tangent
curve concave to the Northwest having a radius
or 16.00 feet, the center of which bears North
89054'45" West 16.00 feet from said beginning
curve, thence Southerly and Westerly 25.13 feet
along said curve through a central angle of
90000'00" to a tangent, thence North 89054'45"
West 69.00 feet, thence North 0015'15" East
114.72 feet to the North line or the land de-
scribed in deed to Thomas L. McLaughlin and wife,
recorded July 22, 1954, in Book 2775, Page 596
of Official Records or said Orange County, thence
North 74035'45" East 140.08 reet along said North
line to the point of beginning.
AND WHEREAS, there is a dwelling house situated on said
property within the area needed by the City for the widening or
Plaeentia Avenue, and it will be neeessa~ to move said dwelling
farther back on said parcel of property; and
WHEREAS, Thomas L. McLaughlin and Blanche S. McLaughlin
have offered to deed to the City of Anaheim an easement for road
and public utility purposes over the Easterly 53 feet of said
parcel of property ror the sum of $3,300.00, and to move said
dwelling house thereon farther back on said parcel of property
so that there will be a minimum setback of 15 feet; and upon the

further condition that the City of Anaheim will improve said
street with paving and curbs without expense to ~ama8 L.
McLaughlin and Blanche S. McLaughlin, but said improvement shall
not include sidewalks;
NOW, 'fHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that an agreement be made and entered into
by and between the Ci ty of Anaheim. and ~omas L. McLaughlin and
Blanche S. McLaughlin, husband and wife, in a form approved by
the City Attorney and incorporating the following provisions:
1. That the deed tendered by Thomas L. McLaughlin
and Blanche S. McLaughlin to the City of Anaheim, conveying an
easement for road and public utility purposes over, under, and
across the Easterly 53 feet (as measured at right angles to the
monumented center line of Placentia Avenue) of the parcel of
land hereinabove described, be accepted by the City, and that
the Finance Director be authorized and directed to pay to said
Thomas L. McLaughlin and Blanche S. McLaughlin the sum of
$3,300.00 upon delivery of said deed properly executed.
2. That Thomas L. McL aughlin and Blanche S. McLaughlin
shall move said dwelling house situated upon said property farther
back on said parcel of property to a point where there shall be
a minimum setback of 15 feet from the boundary line of said ease-
ment, and that said building shall be moved within ninety (90)
days from date hereof.
3. That the City of Anaheim will widen and improve
Placentia Avenue by paving the same and installing curbs without
expense to ~omas L. McLaughlin and Blanche S. McLaughlin, but
said improvement shall not include the installation of sidewalks.
BE I T FURTHER RESOL YEn that the Mayor and the Ci ty Clerk
be, and they are hereby, authorized to enter into said agreement
for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTI ON is approved and signed by me
this 11th day of June, 1958.
