',O[c'EREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does
find and deter'mine that public convenience and necessity require
the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for pub-
lic improvements cO;lsistinp; of ti,o furnishing and installation
of electrically driven, deep well, turbine type pumping units,
includinp concrete bases, in water wells in the City of Anaheim,
Calif'ornia; and
',J}TERLAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of
California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine
the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal
holidays and overtim.e work on public works and improvement s in
the locality in which the ';Jar), is to be performed, for each craft
or type of workman, laborer or' rn:ochao:'.c needed for the execution
of snch public contracts and the makin, of such public improve-
ments, and for tile furnishini' of all plant, labor, services,
mater:i als and equipment and performing all ,york necessary for
tne execution and completion of said public contracts or
improvements;

the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 1'770 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the

The foregoin~ wage scale and rates are for an eight
hour day, forty houY' week, time and one-half for overtime and
double time Sundays and holidays, except as otherwise provided
in the May, 195R revision of the A.G.G., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.G.A.,
A.F.L.-C.I.O. Southern Cal:Lfornia HasteI' Labor Agreement and
Supplements, which shall ,:~overn for such overtime and double time
pay, and for the wage scale for ?oremen not otherwise listed
above. holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
:,rmistice Day, 'l'hanksgi viw~ Day, and Ghri stmas Day. If any o~
the above mentioned holidays, otiler than Labor Day and Thanks-
SivinS Day, falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be con-
sidered a le1a1 holiday.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime
and holiday Hark s:wll be in accordance with the following:
':.'here a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employ-
ment, except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work
beginning on Monday and continuing through Friday each week.
Where work is required in excess or eight hours in anyone day
or durin" the interval of time from 5:00 P.H. Friday and 12:00
0' clock midnif;ht Saturday night, such work shall be paid for at
the minimum rate of one and one-half (I}) times the basic rate
of wages, and on Sundays and holidays such work shall be paid
for at the minimum rate of double tne basic rate of wages, except
as otnerwise provided in the May, 195e revision of the A.G.G.,
B.G.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A.,A.?L.-C.I.O. Southern California
Master Labor Agreement and bupolements.
Properly indentured apprentices to any of the trades
listed above may be employed upon such p11blic improvements with
skilled Horkmen, subject to the provisions of Section 1777.5 of
the Labor Code of the State of California, the wage rates for
such apprentices to be determined as provided in said Section
1777.5.
