A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNOIL OF THE OITY
OF ANAHEIM ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE
PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR EACH
CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED
FOR PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS FOR THE FURNISHING
OF ALL MATERIALS, PLANT, LABOR AND SERVICES
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF PUBLIC
UTILITIES AND PURCHASING OFFICES AT 518 SOUTH
LOS ANGELES STREET, ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, JOB
NO. 399.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does
find and determine that public convenience and necessity require
the acquisition of materials, plant, labor and services for a
public improvement consisting of the oonstruction and completion
of Public Utilities and Purohasing Offices for the City of Anaheim
at 518 South Los Angeles Street, Job No. 399; and
WHEREAS, Section 1770 of the Labor Code of the State of
California requires that the City Council ascertain and determine
the general prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal
holidays and overtime work on public works and improvements in
the locality in which the work i8 to be performed, for each craft
or type of workman, laborer or mechanic needed for the execution
of such pUblic contracts and the making of such public improve-
ments, and for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services,
materials and equipment and performing all work necessary for the
execution and completion of such pUblic contracts or improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 1770 of the Labor COde Of the State of California, the
City Council has ascertained and does hereby determine the general
prevailing rate of hourly wages and rates for legal holidays and
overtime work on pUblic works, and the pUblic improvement consisting
of the construction and completion of Public Utilities and Purchas-
ing Offices for the City of Anaheim at 518 South Los Angeles Street,
Job No. 399, in the locality in which such work is to be performed,
and each craft or type of laborer, workman or mechanio needed for
the execution of pUblic works contracts or contracts for furnish-
ing all plant, materials, labor, services and equipment for the
pUblic improvement consisting of the construction and completion
of Public Utilities and Purchasing Offices for the City of Anaheim
at 518 South Los Angeles Street, Job No. 399, and that said pre-
vailing rates SO determined are as follows:

All foremen, unless separately olasaified, shall be
paid as provided in the May, 1958 revision of the A.G.e., B.e.A.,
H.B.I., E.G.C.A., A.F.L.-C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor
Agreement.
Apprentioes may be employed in oonformity with Seotion
1777.5 Of the California Labor Code.
The rates of per diem wages for eaoh of the various
olassifioations of work shall be the hereinbefore set forth pre-
vailing rates of hourlr wages multiplied by eight. Eight hours
shall constitute a day s work, it being understood that in the
event that workmen are employed less than eight hours per day the
Per diem wage shall be that fraction of the per diem wage herein
established that the number of hours of employment bears to eight
hours.
The overtime rule establishing the rates of overtime
and holiday work shal1 be in accordance with the following: Where
a single shift is worked, eight hours of continuous employment,
except for lunch periods, shall constitute a day's work beginning
on Monday and continuing through Friday each week. Where work is
required in excess of eight hours in anyone day or during the
interval of time from 5:00 olclock P.M. Friday and 12:00 o'clock
midnight Saturday, such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate
of one and one-half times the basic rate of wages, and on Sundays
and holidays such work shall be paid for at the minimum rate of
double the basic rate of wages, except as otherwise provided in
the May, 1958 revision of the A.G.e., B.C.A., H.B.I., E.G.C.A.,
A.F.L.-C.I.O. Southern California Master Labor Agreement.
Holidays as herein referred to shall be deemed to be
New Year's Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day,
Armistice Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the
above mentioned holidays, other than Labor Day and Thanksgiving
Day, falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be considered a
legal holiday.
It shall be mandatory upon the oontractor to whom the
contract is awarded and upon any subcontractor under him to pay
not less than the said specified rates of wages to all laborers,
workmen and mechanics employed by them in the execution of the
contract.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
