RESOLUTION NO. 4160
A RESOLUTION OF TI~ OITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING AlrD APPROVING A CHANGE
ORDER IN THE CONTRACT MADE Al'JD ENTERED INTO
WITH THE BECHTEL CORPORATION ON OCTOBER 15,
1956.
WHEF~AS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
heretofore, to wit: on the 9th day of October, 1956, adopt
Resolution No. 3505 accepting the sealed proposal and awarding a
contract to Bechtel Corporation, the lowest responsible bidder,
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
eguipment and all utilities and transportation including power,
fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct
and complete the following public improvement: An 11-4 XV Sub-
station on the East side of Claudina Street, South of the Southern
Pacific Railroad Right-of-Way, and North of Ellsworth Avenue,
Work Order No. 2261; and
WHEREAS, a contract was duly made and entered into with
said Bechtel Corporation for the furnishing of all materials and
the performance of all of the work aforesaid on the 15th day of
October, 1956; and
WHEREAS, said contract SO made and entered into on the
15th day of October, 1956 provides that the contractor shall recog-
nize the City's right to request changes in any part of the work
within the scope of said contract; and
WHEREAS, the Utilities Director has requested certain
changes in said Work Order No. 2261 and has submitted an estimate
of the cost thereof obtained from Bechtel Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said changes are
to the ad.vantage and for the best interests of the City and that
the cost thereof is not a substantial increase in the cost of the
project, and that a change order should be approved and authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the change order as requested by the
Utilities Director and as set forth in letter dated October 11,
1957, addressed to George F. Oelkers, Utilities Director, signed
by Bechtel Corporation be, and the same i~ hereby approved and
authorized; and that said George F. Oelkers is hereby authorized
to issue a written change order for the making and installation
of the changes as set forth in said letter; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said contractor shall be
Paid the cost of the making and installation of said changes not
to exceed $7,700.00.
