RESOLUTION NO. 67R-34
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC ROAD CON-
NECTIONS ON THE SANTA ANA CANYON ROAD AS SET
FORTH ON THE MASTER PLAN OF ROADS AND STREETS
FOR THE SANTA ANA CANYON AREA.
WHEREAS, portions of Santa Ana Canyon Road, between
the Newport Freeway and Eucalyptus Drive, an existing State
expressway with access rights purchased by State, will be
relinquished to the City after construction of a parallel free-
way on newal~gnment; and
WHEREAS, Orange County and City have developed and
approved a master plan' to establish a definite pattern of roads
and streets for orderly development of the Santa Ana Canyon
area, which will require closing certain existing access open-
ings to be replaced with new public access openings to said
Santa Ana Canyon Road, as shown on Exhibit No.7' - Access
Points - Santa Ana Canyon Road, as adopted by the City Council
of City of Anaheim on January 11, 1966; and
WHEREAS, proposed changes in access will provide for
safer traffic operations along said Santa Ana Canyon Road; and
WHEREAS, it is understood that:
1. The State will retain responsibility on said Santa
Ana Canyon Road until relinquished.
2. Construction to close and open access and crossovers
shall be done at no expense to the State under permit issued by
State.
3. Establishing new public road connections to said
existing Santa Ana Canyon Road will not in any way obligate the
State to provide any additional connections to said freeway.
4. The City will initiate a request in writing to the
State when a public road connection is to be established in
conformance with said Master Plan. Said request will include
a statement that City will accept dedication of the new public
road.
NOW, THEREFORE, recognizing above-stated factors,
it is HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
that:
1. Resolution No. 66R-S13, dated July 26, 1966, a Reso-
lution of the City Council of the City of Anaheim requesting
that State of California convey access rights on the Santa Ana
Canyon Road at Royal Oak Road (Crescent Drive) to the City in
exchange for the closure of certain existing access rights, is
rescinded.

2. The State is requested, until said relinquishment
of Santa Ana Canyon Road, to permit construction of public
road connections to the existing state Highway, at locations
shown on said Master Plan, in a manner mutually acceptable to
State and city.
3. In exchange for public road connections granted by
State in Item 2 above, the City will obtain closure of existing
access openings, which are not on said Master Plan as develop-
ment of adjacent property permits.
