RESOLUTION NO. 67R-6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM DENYING CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT NO. 895.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive a request for a Conditional Use Permit from
HUGHES MARKETS, INC., 2716 San Fernando Road, Los Angeles,
California, to permit the construction of a billboard, with
waivers of the maximum display area and maximum billboard height
limitations (Section l8.63.040(b) of the Anaheim Municipal Code),
on the following described property situated in the City of
Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, to wit:
PARCEL 1: The northwest quarter of the northwest quarter
of the southwest quarter of Section 13, Township 4 South,
Range 11 West, in the Rancho Los Coyotes, County of Orange,
State of California, as per map recorded in Book 51, page
11 of ~tiscellaneous Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County.
EXCEPT the westerly 92.00 feet thereof.
ALSO EXCEPT that portion thereof described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the easterly line of said westerly
92.00 feet, distant southerly 40.00 feet from the northerly
line of said southwest quarter; thence along said easterly
line northerly 40.00 feet to said northerly line; thence
along said northerly line easterly 20.00 feet to the East
line of the West 112.00 feet of said southwest quarter;
thence along said East line Southerly 20.00 feet; thence
southwesterly in a direct line to the point of beginning.
PARCEL 2: The North 5.258 acres of the southwest quarter
of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section
13, Township 4 South, Range 11 West, in the Rancho Los
Coyotes, County of Orange, State of California, as per map
recorded in Book 51, page 11 of rvliscellaneous Maps, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County, which said
North 5.258 acres is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the West line of said Section 13,
South 674.96 feet from the west quarter corner of said
section; thence easterly 663.93 feet parallel with the North
line of said section; thence South 345.00 feet parallel with
the West line of said section; thence West 663.95 feet
parallel with said North line to said West line; thence
North 345.00 feet to the point of beginning.
EXCEPT that portion thereof which lies North of the North
line of the South 10 acres of the west half of the northwest
quarter of the southwest quarter of said section.
ALSO EXCEPT the westerly 92.00 feet thereof.
ALSO EXCEPT the South 160.00 feet thereof.
PARCEL 3: The southwest quarter of the northwest quarter
of the southwest quarter of Section 13, Township 4 South,
Range 11 West, in the Rancho Los Coyotes, County of Orange,
State of California, as per map recorded in Book 51, page
11 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County.

EXCEPT the South 10 acres thereof.
ALSO EXCEPT the West 92.00 feet thereof.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim upon said
request on November 21, 1966, notices of which said public hear-
ing were duly given as required by law and the provisions of
Title 18, Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, inves-
tigation and studies made by itself and in its behalf and after
due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said
hearing, did adopt its Resolution No. PC66-149 denying Conditional
Use Permit No. 895; and
WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty-two (22) days from
the date of the adoption of said resolution, a written appeal
was filed with the City Council protesting the action of the City
Planning Commission in denying said Conditional Use Permit and
said appeal was set for public hearing on January 3, 1967, at the
City Hall, in the City of Anaheim, and notices of such public
hearing were duly given "as required by law and the provisions of
Title 18, Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such hearing
and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity to be
heard and did receive evidence and reports; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find, after careful con-
sideration of the recommendations of the City Planning Commission
and all evidence and reports offered at said hearing, that
Conditional Use Permit No. 895 should be denied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the action of the City planning Com-
mission denying Conditional Use Permit No. 895 be,' and the same
is hereby sustained, and that the request of Hughes Markets, Inc.,
for a conditional use permit to construct a billboard, with waivers
of the maximum display area and maximum billboard height limita-
tions (Section l8.63.040(b) of the Anaheim Municipal Code), on
the property hereinbefore described, be, and the same is hereby
denied.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 3rd day of January, 1967.
