57R-3916 .- --- RESOLUTION NO. j916 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACCEPT ING A SEALED PROPOSAL AND AWARDIID A CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL PLANT, LABOR, SERVICES, MA- TERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND ALL UTILITIES AND TRANS- PORTATION, INCLUDING POWER, FUEL AND WATER, AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY TO CONSTRUCT AND COMPLETE THE FOLLcmING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT: THE NORTH FRONTAGE ROAP SEWER IMPROVEMENT. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin. on the 28th day of Hay and the 4th day of JunA lQ~7 , a notice inviting sealed proposals for furnish- ing the fc.~ ~'wing: All plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing aJ.l work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk or City Engineer of the City of Anaheim, the following pUblic improvement, to wit: The North Frontage Road Sewer Improvement, from Loara Street to Lincoln Avenue, consisting of the construction of V.C.P. sewer lines in the North Frontage Road from Loara Street to Lincoln Avenue, includ- ing trenching, manhole construction, house lateral construction, backfill, resurfacing and appurtenant work, as indicated on the plans, Job No. 1089, in accordance with the design, plans, profiles and specifications of said public improvement on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, said notice inviting sealed proposals for said public improvement did provide that sealed proposals would be re- ceived by the City Council of the City of Anaheim at the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. on the 11th day of June , 195-7--, for the fur~ nishIng of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, the public improvement hereinabove more particularly mentioned and described, and which notice did state and declare that pursuant to the provisions of Section 1770 o~ the Labor Code, the City Council of the City of Anaheim had ascertained the prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of labor is to be performed for each craft or type of workman or mechanic -- needed to execute the contract and did set forth the prevailing hourly wag scale so ascertained; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did re- ceive the following sealed proposals prior to 7:00 o'clock P.M. on the 11th day of June , 195-7--, in response to the notice aforesaid inviting sealed proposals, to wit: -1- - NAME - UNIT BID PRICE TOTAL PRICE $ .5 ..536. 2.5 6,062.00 6.336.80 6.463.90 6,480.01 6.787.66 7.42.5.9.5 7.904.30 8,683.00 ,""" J. ROCK WHEREAS, the City Council did thereupon refer said bids to the City Engineer for examination, tabulation and report to the City Council, and said City Engineer did examine and tabulate said sealed proposals and did re- port to the Council the result of his examination and tabulation; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the sealed proposal submitted by J. P. S, CONTRACTING COMPANY. INC. 12084 Westminster Blvd.. Santa Ana. California is the lowest responsible proposal submitted for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike man- ner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings thereforpn file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Ana- heim, the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described, to- gether with the appurtenances thereto, and as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and that said proposal of said above named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarded to said bidder in accordance U\erewi th, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the above mentioned sealed proposal is the lowest responsible proposal received and that the person, firm or corporation submitting said proposal is a re- sponsible person, firm or corporation and that the proposal submitted is the best suited and fitted for the public improvement to be con- structed. /"""' NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIiE CITY OF ANAHEIM~ that the sealed proposal submitted by for the furni shing . terials and equipment, all utilitie and transportation, including power, fuel and waters and performing all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike mannerp in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim and the notice invit- ing sealed proposals, the public works and improvement hereinabove more particularly mentioned and described. together with the appurte- nances thereto, be, and the same is hereby, accepted, and that a contract Li the construction and completion of said publiC improve- ment be, and the same is hereby, awarded to the said above named bidder. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful bidder or bidders upon each contract awarded as hereinabove set forth, shall be and they are hereby required to execute a contract in the required -2-
