AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REPEALING
TITLE 18-, CHAPTER 18.28, .SECTION 18.28.050 (1.0).
AND ENACTING A NEW TITLE 18-, CHAPTER 18.28,.
SECTION 18.28.050(10-) RELATING TO ZONING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
'SECTMON 1.
That Title 18-, Chapter .18-.28, Section 18.28.050(10-)'
of the Anaheim Municipal Code be,' .and the same 'ishereby
repealed.
'SECTION 2.
That Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and
the same'is hereby amended by adding to Title 18, Chapter
18.28,.Section 18.28.050(10) to read as follows:
"CHAPTER 18.28 - "R-2" MULTIPLE -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL ZONE
18.28.050(10) - OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS
(a) Minimum Number and Type of Parking Spaces:
1. For Multiple -Family Dwellings; each dwelling
.unit shall be provided with not less
than the .following number of parking
spaces,- at .least one `.(1)- of which :shall
be covered or enclosed.
a. Units with'one 'or less bedrooms:
1.5 spaces
b. Units with 'two bedrooms -:..2..0 spaces
c. Units with three or more bedrooms:
2.5 spaces
For purposes. of interpretation of this
Section, .all- rooms other than a living
room, dining room, bathroom, hall -lobby,.
closet,.or'pantry shall be considered as
a bedroom. Further,,in computing park-
ing requiremahts,-.fractional requirements
shall be rounded off to the nearest whole
number. Fractions of .5 or more being
counted as one '(1) full space.
(b) Minimum Dimensions -of Parking Spaces;- shall- be
not -less than the following:
1.- Covered spaces, minimum interior dimensions
of ten (10). feet -in width 'and twenty (20.)
feet -in length and having a clear access
width 'of nine (9.) feet.
2. Open spaces: Eight and one-half (8 1/2)'
feet wideand nineteen (1.9) feet long.

(c) Required Enclosure 'of Carports.- All carports.
shall be enclosed on three (3) sides provided
that when built in comb inat ion of two (2.) or
more .adjacent .spaces, .only the rear of the .
carports -and two (2). ends need be enclosed
except as the Uniform Building Code may other-
wise require. All interior walls -of carports -
shall be finished with -exterior material.
General storage .cabinets, and one hundred (100)
cubic feet per. car space minimum capacity, shall
be provided within each .carport or conveniently
located thereto.. Adequate: bumper guards .shall
be provided to protect -the interior walls of
carports from damage.
(d) Maximum Distance Between Parking Spaces -and
Dwelling Units:. - Each '.required enclosed or
covered parking space .shall be within two -
hundred (200) feet of and readily accessible
to the unit it -serves.
(e). Required Screening of Parking Facilities..
Parking facilities shall be'screened by
means of plant -landscaping or architectural
devices from adjacent .properties and from
living and recreational -leisure areas -and
from adjacent streets.
(f.) Vehicle Access 'Requirements.- Every apartment
and/or dwelling unit -shall be located within
two hundred (2.00). feet of, .and be served by, .
such .public or private. accessways- that will
provide adequate access -and circulation for
pedestrian and for vehicular traffic, includ-
ing fire, utility, trash collection and other
essential services.
(g) All- vehicular acce.ssways shall permit a
minimum turning radius of twenty-five '(2S)
feet.
(h) Where a building site abuts. upon an alley'., all
vehicular access -to garages and carports shall
be .from the alley only.
SECTION .3.
SEVERABILITY. The City -Council of the City of Anaheim
hereby declares that should any section, paragraph, sentence'or
word of this chapter of the Code hereby adopted be declared for
any reason tobe invalid,.it is the intent of the Council that
it. would have passed all -other portions -of this chapter indepen-
dent -of the elimination herefrom of any such portion as may be
declared invalid.

-SECTION '4.:
The City Clerk .shall- certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once. within
fifteen (1.5) days after. its adoption, ,in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, ,printed, .published and cir-
culated in said City, and thirty (3.0). days from and after its
final passage it shall take effect -and be in full --force..
