A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM GRANTING VARIANCE N0. 1827
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive a petition for zoning variance from
_,prYT.E HILL and DEI,MAR JACKSON, owners
of certain real property situated in the. City o Anaheim, County
of Orange, State of California, described as follows'
That portion of Lot 3 of the Stockwell Subdivision in the City
of Anaheim as shown on a map recorded in Book 6, page 10 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps in the Office of the County Recorder, County of
Orange, State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly prolongation of
the south line of said Lot 3 with the center line of East Street
(formerly known as Raymond Avenue); thence North 0° 14' 40" East
along said center line a distance of 174.00 feet; thence North
89° 37' 52" West parallel to said south line of Lot 3 a distance
of 45.00 feet to the true point of beginning; thence continuing
along said parallel line North 89° 37' 52" West 100.00 feet to
a point; thence parallel with said center line of East Street
South 0° 14' 40" West 142.00 feet to a point on the northerly
line of Kenwood Avenue, being 64.00 feet wide, as recorded in
Book 5651, page 222 of Official Records of Orange County; thence
along said northerly line North 89° 37' 52" West 102.37 feet to
a point on a curve being concave southeasterly having a radius
of 958.00 feet, said curve being the easterly line of the Orange
County Flood Control District right of way, being 75.00 feet
wide, as recorded in Book 5651, page 219 of Official Records of
Orange County, a radial through said point bears North 74° 45'33"
West; thence along said curve through a central angle of 17° 33'
09" an arc length of 293.48 feet to a point, a radial through
said point bears North 57° 12' 24" West; thence leaving said
curve and continuing along the Orange County Flood Control right
of way South 89° 45' 20" East 84.51 feet to a point; thence
South 0° 14' 40" West parallel to and distant 45.00 feet from
the center line of said East Street, 125.96 feet to the true
point of beginning.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim upon said
petition on Se tember 26 1966 notice of which said
public hearing was duly given as required by law and the provi-
sions of Title 18, Chapter 18,76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code;
and
WHEREAS, said City Planning Commission, after due
inspection, investigation and studies made by itself and in its
behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and reports
offered at said hearing, did adopt Resolution No,pC66 -91 Ssr4s6

WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty-two (22) days from
the date of the adoption of said resolution, a written appeal was
filed with the City Council of the City of Anaheim protesting the
faction of the City Planning Commission denying said
variance, and said appeal was set for public hearing on
ve er 9 19 66 at 7 :00 o'clock P.M. at the City
n e y of Anahelm,and notice of such public hearing
Ves duly given as required by law and the provisions of Title 18,
Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, after due investigation and studies made by
itself and in its behalf, and after due consideration-of all the
evidence and reports offered at said hearing, the City Council
does find and determine that:
AT T ST:
1. There are exceptional or extraordinary circum-
stances or conditions applicable to the property
involved or to the intended use of the property
that do not apply generally to the property or
class of use in the same vicinity and zone.
2. That such a variance is necessary for the preserva-
tion and enjoyment of a substantial property right
possessed by other property in the.same vicinity
and zone and denied to the property in question.
That the granting of such variance will not be
materially detrimental to the public welfare or
injurious to the property or improvements in such
vicinity and zone in which the property is located.
That the granting of such variance will not adversely
affect the comprehensive general zoning plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that a conditional zoning variance be, end the same
is hereby granted permitting a waiver of the maximum height of a
free- standing sign within a radius of 300 feet of any structure
used exclusively for residential purposes (Section 18.62.090(b 2)
of the Anaheim Municipal Code), on the property hereinbefore
described, subject to the following condition:
That the proposed sign shall be constructed
substantially in accordance with plans and
specifications on file with the City of
Anaheim, marked Exhibits Nos. 1 and 2;
provided, however, that the height of said
sign shall not exceed 50 feet and the sign
area shall not exceed 350 square feet.

The City Council hereby reserves the right to revoke
such variance permit for good cause or failure of said owners,
their heirs, successors or assigns, to comply with the Anaheim
Municipal Code and regulations and the condition herein. Said
variance is granted for the term prescribed by the Anaheim
Municipal Code unless otherwise specified herein.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 9th day of November, 1966.
