Hello representative Faessel, I have attached a letter of opposition and calling on you to govern by the will of the people that put you in office. And to not give into wealthy special interests groups that don't care about us or our community. Vote NO on this Project ! See attached letter. Thank you, Douglas Robbins 1 SALT Development Hills Preserve Project My name is Douglas Robbins, I live at Anaheim Hills. I live in zone 8 and have lived here 38 years. I strongly encourage you to vote NO on this development! We live in an area that already has way too much traffic. People trying to get through the chokehold of the canyon on the 91 Freeway headed east bound is blocking our streets. The infrastructure in this area is not enough to handle the current traffic. We are also in a high fire risk zone. Under normal conditions this might not be too big of an issue. However, whenever there is a Santa Ana wind condition this becomes a very dangerous situation. The wind comes through the Canyon Westbound like a freight train. And for some reason the fires always happen during these conditions. The fires fanned by these winds move through the Canyon at such a rate that firefighters cannot control it. And when trying to evacuate you find yourself in a gridlock where you literally cannot move an inch. Your life is in god’s hands at this point. I have been in this situation at least 3 times in this area, it is very scary. I have been able to see the fires from my porch. The traffic in the area is only getting worse and the fire risks are increasing as well due to Global Warming. Many of the residents of Anaheim Hills have expressed our concerns to the Planning Commission and City Council. And I don’t believe you guys are hearing us. At the planning Commission meeting to vote on this Project, the Planning commission staff, the fire department and police department all made recommendations to vote NO on this project. Anaheim Residents in huge numbers turned out to voice their concerns and seek a NO vote. But somehow the Planning commission decided to vote Yes. Lucille Kring went so far as to mock us for our concerns and refer to us as NIMBY’s. I don’t appreciate this type of behavior from City Officials and will not tolerate it! Let me remind you that you are a Public Servant, you have been entrusted by the people to keep them SAFE. And to govern by the will of the people who put you in office. We demand that our voices be heard! This Project puts everyone at considerably higher risk of being killed in a fire.It is another Lahaina tradgedy in the making. It’s not an IF situation, it is a WHEN situation. Instead of talking about this Project we should be talking about how to make this a safer environment, not a more dangerous one. th Vote NO on this Project on October 29! Thank you for your consideration, feel free to contact me if you have any questions, see you at the meeting, Douglas Robbins
