FACT: This isaphoto oftheevacuation traffic from Canyon Fire 2onSanta Ana Canyon Road (SAC). A
three hour line. Heading WEST with thefirein theEAST.
1
FACT: Ontheleftisthelocation oftheproposed SALT Development project.
FACT: SAC isthree lanes each direction near Weir Canyon and again near Imperial HwyBUT ONLY TWO
LANES EACH DIRECTION here creating aCHOKE POINT.
FACT: In Canyon Fire 2, Traffic was NOTALLOWED to travel totheEAST sincethat was thedirection of
thefire. Verify this with yourFire Chiefand thephoto.
FACT: ALL ofthemajor fires have come from the EAST sotraffic willALL bedirected totheWEST. Verify
this with your Fire Chief.
FACT: The Know Your Way plan hassome residents travelling EAST into thefire. This willNOT happen
with afire inthe EAST.
FACT: The proposed development does nothave asecondary exit. They have two main exits. Both of
them exit ontoSAC inthis choke point.
FACT: Secondary exits arecrucial topublic safety. Theintent isthat when one exit isblocked there isa
secondary way toexit.
FACT: Many ofushaveonly one exit outand itisonto SAC. This isamajor infrastructure problem. Do
notputanadditional 1000 people atriskin thesame way!
FACT: Residents oftheproposed project willbeblocked and trappedin that canyon because SAC does
not move here asevidenced intheevacuation photo above.
FACT: Many of usinEast Anaheim Hills arelosing ourfireinsurance.
FACT: The California Insurance Commissioner stated that oneproblem isthatbuilders havebeen
allowed tobuild inthese Very High Fire Danger areas.
FACT: Deer Canyon has been designated asaVeryHigh Fire Danger area. This practice needs toend.
Verify this with theCAInsurance Commissioner.
FACT: Anaheim Hills could getamulti family development ofapproximately 450 units intheFestival
Shopping Center (Festival).
FACT: The Festival isasafer location fordevelopment. Itismore appropriately zoned andhasreal
secondary exitsfor itsresidents toevacuate safely.
FACT: The SALT developer purchased theproperty knowing itwas zoned forsingle family homes.
FACT: The SALT developer has theoption tobuild ontheproperty ascurrently zoned.
FACT: The SALT developer shouldn'tcomplain about money they have already spent when they
knowingly purchased parcels that arenotzoned for what they want tobuild.
FACT: Wildfire isaREAL problemthat theresidents ofyour city ontheEast side face.
FACT: You need toprotect ALL theresidents inyour city andany new residents who willbemoving in.
FACT: AsCouncil Members, you focus on theneeds oftheconstituents ofyour individual districts, but
you also have aduty toprotectALLthecitizens ofAnaheim.
FACT: Ifyou areaCouncil Member from adifferent district please consider allof these factsbefore you
vote. This isapotentialloss oflifeissue.
