I am writing to express my strong concerns about the proposed SALT development in Deer Canyon. This
project, as currently planned, poses significant risks to our community and the natural landscape we
cherish.
One of my primary concerns is the anticipated increase in traffic that the development will bring. Our
roads are already congested, and the added strain from the SALT project will undoubtedly worsen this
issue, making daily commutes and emergency response times significantly longer. In the event of an
emergency, it is alarming to think that an evacuation could take up to three hours or more. This delay
could endanger lives and hinder our ability to respond effectively to crises.
Furthermore, the potential environmental impact on Deer Canyon is troubling. This area is home to
diverse wildlife and natural beauty that should be preserved for future generations.
I urge the council to reconsider the implications of the SALT development and prioritize the well-being of
our community and environment.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.
Sincerely,
Diane Gabriel
