I am writing to express my deep concerns and strong disapproval regarding the proposed Deer Canyon
Project in Anaheim Hills. This project, if allowed to proceed, will not only exacerbate the already critical
traffic situation we face in our community every evening but also place an undue burden on our already
overcrowded schools.
Anaheim Hills is a relatively small city, and it lacks the necessary resources and infrastructure to support
the establishment of a new residential community in this area. Furthermore, our region is prone to
wildfires, which makes it essential to maintain unobstructed escape routes for the safety of our
residents.
I challenge you to drive East on Santa Ana Canyon Road through our city during rush hour traffic weekday
evenings from 4pm-7pm to witness how gridlocked our streets are with our current infrastructure. You
will quickly see that adding additional residents to our community is not the answer we are seeking.
The addition of the Deer Canyon Project would not only impede these crucial escape routes but also
obstruct the pathways for fire and rescue teams in times of emergency, potentially endangering lives.
Moreover, the influx of new residents, particularly families with children, would place an immense strain
on our local schools. Our schools are already overcrowded, and the additional student population from
this development would exacerbate the issue, leading to larger class sizes, fewer resources, and a
decline in educational quality.
It's important to note that both the local fire department and police department have expressed their
opposition to this project, citing concerns about public safety and resource allocation.
Prioritizing profit over the safety and well-being of our community is unacceptable. This project puts our
lives at risk for the benefit of Salt Development.
Preserving this land as a wildlife habitat would not only safeguard our environment but also provide a
sanctuary for the local wildlife to coexist harmoniously. Currently, we already witness endangered
wildlife encroaching on our neighborhoods, posing risks to our pets and their own safety. Approving this
project would further displace these animals from their protected habitats, pushing them into our
communities.

I strongly urge you to reconsider the proposal for the Deer Canyon Project and prioritize the preservation
of this land as a wildlife habitat, ensuring the safety, well-being, and quality of life for both our residents
and the local wildlife.
Sincerely,
Bryan Galaz
