I am a long-time resident of Anaheim Hills. While I understand the need for more housing in the are, this particular development is outside of what is appropriate for this community. - my main concern is the traffic. The existing community traffic plus the traffic caused by people getting off of the 91 jams our streets. Already there are large segments of the day that I avoid driving towards Weir and towards Imperial. It took me 20 minutes on Friday to get from Crescent to El Rancho after school. We also see people driving unsafely through our neighborhood streets as it is in order to avoid Santa Ana Canyon. I live off Summertree and folks zip through here already. Adding 1000+ cars to the area is a terrible idea. - I’m also concerned about the ability to evacuate the area in case of a fire. I’ve had to do so twice and with only significant access road, these extra units increase our risk of getting stuck. - the size and scale of their proposal does not fit the area - property values are high here because of the somewhat more rural feel of the Hills. Winding roads, vegetation, compact apartment and townhome building nestled into the hills, the walking path along Santa Ana Canyon - these are valuable aspects of the community. An 8 story mega structure is not appropriate. - while the developers claim to be mindful of the wildlife in the area, a huge development will obviously negatively Impact the animals habitat. We’ve already taken over so much open space - we don’t need to further limit their territory. Thank you for opposing the Deer Canyon development. Jillian Lee 1
