Dear city officials,
My name is GillianMay Lin and I’ve been an Anaheim Hills resident, along with my husband, Richard Lin,
for 15 years and have our small business in the heart of Anaheim Hills for 14 years.
I’m writing to respectfully ask you NOT to approve, rezone and eliminate a natural habitat for wild life in
Deer Canyon.
We have seen and experienced the increase of traffic through the years and it’s become worst everyday.
Our city is the major passage to and from Corona and whenever the 91 is jammed up , our city becomes
the way to go through! Everyday the traffic on Santa Ana Canyon Road starts at about 1:30pm till 7pm, a
lot of the traffic is from commuters trying to avoid the freeway to go east. Let’s all remember that there
are residents who live along Santa Ana Canyon Road and because of the traffic, they have to endure the
traffic on a surface street just to get home.
On a “normal” day, our drive to from our house to our business (about 4 miles) would take us anywhere
from 10 minutes to 20 minutes. If we leave our business anytime between 5pm to 7pm, it’d take just 10
minutes just to get pass the area at Imperial Highway and the 91 E offramp with all the traffic getting off
and blocking the intersection!
During the 2017 Canyon fire evacuation , a 3.5 miles drive from the El Rancho Charter School to Lakeview
drive, took me 2+ hours! Not to mention the freeway, Imperial Highway were all closed therefore I had to
go all the way to Lakeview in order to get onto La Palama Ave where our business is. And of course the
drive from our house to El Rancho was another 1+ hour.
I am strongly against the development of the Deer Canyon project because of the issues mentioned. Our
city already is having a difficult time handling the traffic as is and will absolutely not be able to manage
during an emergency!
We love our city, our community and we care about the people and what’s going on in the community
tremendously!
Thank you!
Regards,
GillianMay LIN
