My name is Donna Kent and I have been a resident of Anaheim Hills for 24 years. I am very concerned about the SALT project being discussed concerning building in Deer Canyon. I understand progress is needed but what I dont understand is how the city can put the life's of its community in danger over progress. I know there maybe a very small amount of positive aspects to the project but the many, many negative aspects outweigh it. Traffic is a major concern. Because of the 91 freeway being so busy, so many people are using our streets, Santa Ana Csnyon, Canyon Rim, Noah Ranch and the smaller residential streets to pass the 91 freeway. You add on at least 1000 more cars to that and we won't be able to leave our houses from 3:00 on. With 498 apartments you need to average at least 2 cars per household. One of my biggest concerns is wild life. As it is the wild life in the canyon are entering our residential houses. If we take away more of there land, where will they go. The biggest factor is fire. As the city council knows we are in a fire zone. Evacuation now is a nightmare. Adding the SALT project will increase that evacuation time exponentially. The safety of the residents of Anaheim Hills should be the top priority in deciding any additional projects. How can the city justify the approval of the SALT project when both our police and fire departments have stated the danger in building in Deer Canyon? As elected members, it is your duty to put the needs of your community first. I hope you will consider the lives of the residents in Anaheim Hills as the top priority when you make your decision. Thank you, Donna Kent 1
