We were the last development for years and over time have seen this area grow and extend out to Weir Canyon and beyond. We currently feel we are living between two freeways the 91 and what Santa Ana Canyon has become. It has become very noisy and tra?ic keeps us locked in our homes at Peak times of the days from commuting to the store or Costco or Home Depot Or Target . Over the years we have been evacuated 3 times. Accidents on Santa Ana Canyon have been numerous from speeding vehicles. Loss of life has occurred due to the accidents and since Covid the cars seem to be above the law running red lights. Sometimes it feels like we are living in the wild west where there is no repercussions for breaking these tra?ic laws. For those of us who live right here at Mohler & the canyon road we are first hand witnesses to the impact the tra?ic has caused over the last few years and it is getting worse by the day. Commuters from South County and other areas are navigating over the hills on surface streets DAILY (if you haven’t experienced it try driving on Canon from Santiago between 4-7 Monday thru Friday or better yet come sit on Santa Ana canyon on a Friday afternoon) Cars travel through residential areas trying to bypass the 91 and 55 junction by taking Santa Ana Canyon road down to Weir or Gypsum to then access the 91. All city streets that come up over the Anaheim Hills area ultimately have to commute onto Santa Ana Canyon road at some point adding to the already congested streets. Tempers flare and drivers take chances ultimately causing accidents. Heaven forbid there is a shut down or accident on the 91 or a Friday night -TOTAL GRIDLOCK To allow this huge development to go forward, to change the existing Zoning to accommodate this developer is to ignore your constituents who have voted you in to represent the BEST interests of we the residents and TAX payers who live in this bottle neck area of Anaheim. If this is about $$$$ then allow them to build on areas like the ones near the stadium or many areas where commercial buildings are being torn down. These are not low income apartments and thus we should not be mandated to allow them to have YOU change the Zoning. Leave the Zoning as is for True residential homes and protect the environment for the wild life and the enjoyment of we the people . We the residents have spoken and written to ask you to say NO to this development. The impact will be horrendous, our property values will plumet, accidents will occur, fires will occur again and the possibility that we the residents not being able to escape could lead to another “Paradise” Ultimately liability will be on the CITY !! Which means Us the Tax Payers and your constituents who believed you were representing Us at the ground level not the greed of this expansion developer who will build and then exit and move onto their next money maker leaving we Anaheim citizens to live with the impact to our way of life. Please use your conscious and vote NO Gary & Mary Ann Moon Anaheim 92808
