I would like to voice my concerns over the planned Deer Canyon Development in Anaheim Hills.
Over the years, our community has become more and more congested with traffic due to commuters
avoiding the 91 east during rush hour. Commuters from from the west and south of Anaheim Hills
use Santa Ana Canyon, Nohl Ranch Rd., Canon, Imperial, Serrano and Weir Canyon as alternatives
to sitting on the 91 fwy west of Imperial. Much of this is as a result of the congested traffic on the 241
toll road to the 91 east. The traffic has become so bad in recent months that Traveling from Fairmont
to Savi Ranch Shopping Center on a Friday afternoon has taken up to an hour do to the congestion at
the Weir Canyon/Santa Ana Canyon intersection.
I bring up this point to help illustrate just how detrimental this new Deer Canyon Development would
be to our already congested community. The 2017 fire that burned through our neighborhoods
caused thousands to evacuate. Our evacuation routes were so congested, it took many residents 3
hours to drive a distance that normally take 15-20 minutes. As a resident that lives withing a half
mile of Deer Canyon, my family will be directly effected by the add traffic from Deer Canyon.
Please give serious consideration to what the Anaheim Hills residents, fire fighters and police have to
say about this development. Thousands of lives will be negatively effected.
Sincerely,
Jason Gilbert
Anaheim Hills resident
