I would like to express my vehement opposi?on to the deer Canyon project. I am an Anaheim Hills resident, a prac?cing
pediatric surgeon, and the founding Director of the only level one pediatric trauma program in the county. The traffic is
par?cularly bad in the area on Santa Ana Canyon close to the proposed project, and is ge?ng worse every year. The back
up is now making the neighborhood essen?ally non-navigable during a?ernoon rush-hour.
In the event of a mass evacua?on occurrence, such as a major fire, adding hundreds or thousands of addi?onal residents
will seriously exacerbate what is already a hazardous situa?on. In my personal opinion, the project has not been
represented to the local neighbors in a straigh?orward way, and is not being done with the agreement or the wishes of
the vast majority of residents in the area. Our concerns feel like they have been brushed aside at every level with li?le
change in what appears to be a predetermined plan.
I am hopeful that the city council will recognize the significantly nega?ve impact on safety, disaster, preparedness, quality
of life in the area, and strain on a local infrastructure that is absolutely unprepared for it.
