I strong oppose the proposed development at Deer Canyon in Anaheim Hills.
I have lived in Anaheim Hills since 1981 and have experienced a significant increase in
traffic congestion since that time. Driving to and accessing programs and amenities,
including those at the Anaheim Hills Community Center on Santa Ana Canyon Road, is
all but impossible for me at certain times during the day, in particular the evening
hours, due increased traffic. As a long time resident of the city, it seems I have now
become deprived of full access to city services due to traffic gridlock on our local
streets.
I am even very concerned about my safety in the future in the event of another wildfire.
How will I make my way safely via the prescribed evacuation route with even more
vehicles also following this prescribed evacuation route if the proposed development
moves forward? Shouldn’t the safety of your residents be your primary consideration?
For these reasons, I urge you to vote no on the proposed development and to put your
existing residents first in your decision-making.
