Anaheim City Council,
PLEASE VOTE AGAINST THIS DISATEROUS PROJECT!!
I have been a resident of Anaheim Hills for over 18 years and this project would create extremely dangerous and
potentially deadly conditions.
Over the last 18 years we have lived through multiple fire evacuations. Every few years a major fire comes through this
area and creates havoc on the residents.
The danger of building more housing and increasing the number of residents and cars on the road in this small community
will create extreme traffic conditions during any fire and will increase the chance of someone dying,
During one of the last fires in the area trying to evacuate was terrifyingly dangerous. It took over an hour to travel less
than a mile in any direction. The road was completely shut down due to the immense number of cars on the
road. Several families were forced to stay in the area because they could not leave their homes due to the traffic.
I personally was stuck in traffic on Weir Canyon with my family as the fire spread to the island vegetation. My children
were terrified as we could not move, and the fire was next to our car. Luckily, a fire helicopter came and sprayed the area
and stopped the fire from igniting any of the cars. We were lucky but adding more cars to the area will only increase this
dangerous evacuation route.
Traffic has been significantly increasing each year with the opening of Serrano Ave. We are completely overrun with traffic
every morning and every afternoon with cars driving though our city to get to the 91 Fwy. Our city simply cannot handle
any more cars on the road.
Please vote against this project. As council members you have the duty to ensure you are making decisions for the safety
and betterment of our community. We do not want this project to proceed in our city as it would create extremely
dangerous situations for all residents.
Thank you,
Christina
