Dear City of Anaheim Team, On behalf of our community, I am writing to strongly oppose the proposed Deer Canyon project in our high-risk fire area. We are deeply concerned that those considering this project are overlooking critical fire safety risks. Our recent evacuation experience underscored the severe limitation of our infrastructure under emergency conditions. The added congestion from new developments in such a high-risk area is reckless, with the potential to endanger lives by complicating evacuations. It is clear to our community that additional hydrants or resources do not address the core issue: population density in a high fire-risk zone. Emergency preparedness should be paramount in any development decisions here, yet the current project plans fail to adequately reflect this priority. We urge city leadership to recognize the substantial risks and choose safety over development in this instance. We look forward to a thoughtful response that acknowledges our community's concerns. Sincerely, Elia Castaneda 1
